At our Manchester, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

A couple weeks ago – Ordered drive thru and received the boxes of food Sat in the parking lot to dine and enjoy the evening as the business was closing for the day. Fish tasty but imo could have been cooked a minute more and slaw flavorful Rice was okay green beans were great and the fries were really good would visit again depending on the group of friends deciding to choose this place.

Good luck getting your food in a reasonable time. We ordered drive-thru at 8:11. There was one vehicle in front of us. I didn’t get my food until 8:29. We waited 18 minutes to get 3 meals after sitting behind one vehicle. That is completely unacceptable. Unfortunately, that isn’t a fluke… It’s happened twice now in less than a month. DO NOT GO HERE.

I went in for dinner on Saturday evening. It was just a little after 7. The employees where all out front and seem to be having a get together instead of working. Placed my order. Went to get my drink. NO TEA. They said its not been busy so we didn’t make a fresh batch. Drink machine is filthy and sticky. Get my condiments no ketchup have to ask for packets. Just about all of the condiments containers where empty, go to find a table and there was plenty open. But all where dirty not wiped down. Finally found one. Got my food, half of it was cold or room temp. My fries looked like they had been sitting all day. The cole slaw smelled as if it had been soured. The fish was barely warm the only thing on my plate hot was the crab cakes that where cooked to order.

I stopped by this afternoon to make an order to take home at 4:55PM. I gave my order and the young lady read back to me exactly what I asked for. I get up to the window and sit for a couple of minutes and then I am asked to move into one of the reserved parking spots to wait for my order. My order is finally brought out to me at 5:20 PM. I checked to make sure that the two 4-oz tartar sauces, that I paid for, were in the bag and they were not. I go inside to retrieve them and the tartar sauce dispenser in the building has not been refilled. So the young lady asked me if I just want several packets instead of the tartar sauce I paid for. I told her that I wanted what I paid for. I finally leave the building at 5:30 PM, after waiting for them to change the tartar sauce out. I get home and find out that the extra piece of fish that I requested and the two hush puppies that were supposed to be in the plate are not in the order. This order cost me almost $55 and half of it was messed up. I’m not sure what is going on with this Captain D’s, but this is ridiculous.

Very clean restaurant. The employees were very friendly and service quick. Food was ok to good. Shrimp was small and had to much breading chicken was tasty but small and I was not that impress with fish. I also ordered a couple of the crab rolls and they were quite tasty. Overall food was good and the reasonable. I would people give Captain D’s a try.

Manchester, TN Captain D’s has always been our go to fish and chips restaurant. We usually get the 2 or 3 piece fish dinner. Their food is great and not greasy. Love their little cheese cakes and their veggies are good too. We especially love their tartar sauce!!!

Asked for double fries that’s barley a handful. On tip of that the chicken was hard and after being asked if I wanted sauce and I said yes I would like ketchup I did not receive any I will not be returning to.this establishment.
