Gibroni’s Pizza Menu – San Clemente, CA

Type : Pizza restaurant

Location : San Clemente, CA

Gibroni’s Pizza is Detroit-style pizza by Detroit natives. We grew up on the square pizza and are on a mission to share the flavors of back home with Orange County and beyond. What is Detroit-style pizza? Slightly thick with sauce on top, cheese all the way to the edge of the buttery crust, crispy on the edges and bottom, soft in the middle, and square slices. The magic is in the pans. We started experimenting with pizza in 2020 during the shutdown. Our first orders were taken via DM on Instagram, and pizzas were made from our home kitchen for the first six months. We now operate out of the kitchen of JD’s in downtown San Clemente and are blessed by this amazing community that keeps us going!

Detroit-style pizza provided by a pop-up kitchen inside an unfussy tavern that has a patio. Based on 271 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.8 stars. Price $$

Reached out to the business on Instagram and they confirmed that they welcome dogs! We had a party of 4 and snagged a table in less than 10 minutes. We ordered beverages from JDs and then pizza from Gibroni’s.

Highly recommend! Love the food! We come once a month or so whenever we go to San Clemente pier/beach. Haven’t had a bad item yet my favorite pizza is From the D, but the Pizza sticks and Greek salad are really good as well. Not really sure if/when the bar they work out of is open. Every time I’ve been there (dinner time)the bar is still closed so it feels like more of a carry out spot to me then dine in but they do have tables in the courtyard to eat there.

Detroit style pizza at its best. Traveling all the way from the north OC to snatch up this tasty pizza is so worth it. What is better than a great tasting pizza? Well, a great tasting GLUTEN FREE pizza. My gosh they nailed that recipe down! Doesn’t taste like cardboard like those other pizza joints. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Pizza takes longer than your traditional pizza but they are pretty fast here. A few beers on tap. Nice little patio area to eat your pizza on the spot. Highly recommend this place. All pics are gluten free items.

I’ve been wanting to try Detroit style pizza and this place for awhile and happy I finally did. I got a sausage pizza and it was delicious. Lots of cheese, great sauce and crust, and heavy amounts of sausage. Very filling. I’m definitely going to try the double pepperoni next.

Two words “kick a**, we drove 45mins to see if the hype was real, and I’m happy to report it is. Crust was crispy and flavorful toppings really great and they are not stingy!! Well worth the money, yes a bit pricey but worth every dollar trust me, I call things as they are and I’ll tell you we found out new pizza joint. Tip: get the fresh basil and hot honey added you’ll thank me later!

Since moving to southern California in 2011, the only thing we ever complained about living here was that there was no great pizza shops around. Then came Gibronis with its Detroit Style pizza. They knock it out of the park with flavor. The crust is so buttery with the right amount of crisp on the outside and pillow like softness on the inside. And if you’re gluten free- they have you so covered you won’t believe you’re eating GF. Nothing stale and tasteless here! The toppings- forget it- awesome. All of them. Our favorites are From the D and Fun Guys but don’t sleep on the appetizer breads- they are all awesome. Oh and do.not.forget.the.CRANCH. Get a couple of those. You don’t need them but you want them. Oh and they started selling stuffed cookies from a local company, Salt and Rosemary. Of course they are great and a nice sweet treat at the end of all that pizza goodness. Go get some Gibronis!

Finally got to try the Detroit style pizza made by a guy from Detroit. I 10/10 recommend you try this pizza as soon as you can. The corner slices are perfect with crispy corners with quality toppings. Don’t forget to order some cheese bread also

Wow! We are impressed! Great pizza and unlike anything we have in San Clemente. We ordered the From the D with added jalapeno and the Fun Guys. Both were excellent and bigger than we expected. Great toppings and sauce, super creamy cheese and unreal thick, buttery crust. Our family of 4 (with 2 teenagers) only finished one of the two large pizzas. It was even better for lunch the next day.

The pizza was so so good, the place is tucked inside of Jo’s and was a little tough to find on quick glance. It’s worth the $ and trip. I only wish they were a bit more accommodating to do half cheese/half pepperoni but it’s all good.
