I stopped in here for the first time after seeing the restaurant listed on my Upside App. I ordered a Poke Bowl and some Naruto Sushi. The food was delicious and fresh. I was very impressed seeing all of the various options for people. There are vegan and vegetarian options, along with all the sushi options.

The restaurant itself was nice. Clean and bright inside, which is always nice. The downside is that the person preparing the sushi told me they had only 1 year of experience making sushi. The rice was very puffy and mushy. Reminded me of the sushi that comes packaged at Kroger and sits around for a while. To be frank, when the rice is overdone and soggy, it ruins the sushi. I was only able to make myself eat half of the order because I was absolutely starving.

I’d rate a 3 star. Sushi looked beautiful and fresh. The order was done a lot faster than I expected, which was nice. The staff seemed very nice and welcoming. I take away from 5 stars however because the moment I walked in, there was a distinct and unpleasant odor. When trying a new sushi restaurant (or any restaurant for that matter), you normally expect it to smell very clean and spic and span. Instead, it smelled like an Indian restaurant and moldy water. It was also very dark insude. It throws off from the vibe of the place. The smell reeked into the rice of my sushi and that’s all I could notice/smell when eating. I’m only harshly critiqueing because I feel like if this place fixed that, they could become close to a 5 star rating. They seemed very nice and they have unique options (like the fruit roll in my picture). I hope for the best of this place.

$5 sushi Mondays and Tuesdays – but you get what you pay for unfortunately. The Philly roll had no salmon and had imitation crab meat! If your business isn’t going to follow standard recipes then maybe you should list your ingredients so people actually know what they’re ordering. Another reviewer stated that the rice wasn’t sushi rice and I have to agree. The rice was sticky and had too much vinegar. Go somewhere and save your time and money.
