Yes, you absolutely want to stop and eat here. I do not think there is any place else in the nation where you will get this kind of education and exposure to history — and the fine art of taxidermy — while enjoying a delicious lunch. The variety of animals is mesmerizing. The food is excellent and the staff is friendly.

Fosters is a step back in time. The best private animal display that would rival some of the best natural history museums in the Nation. Not a place for anti hunting types. Food is good drinks very good staff great

Ok everyone, you have to stop in at this amazing place to eat off of Highway 12. Probably the best spot to eat in Rio Vista. I can’t explain how good the food is here. The experience in eating a delicious meal here is wonderful. While you eat, you can look and at all of the beautiful taxidermy. When you sit down you will get a Menu and on the back tells you all about the history of this wonderful restaurant. And how everything came together back in the 1930’s and 40’s. The clam chowder was amazing. The elk burger like I had today I would definitely order again and again. The 8 oz New York steak really with a spot for my lady. Thank you very much Foster’s Big Horn, We will of course definitely be back for more. Most likely next weekend lol. P.S. thanks out to our awesome waitress we had, you were very helpful and kind. Adding truffle cake to end our yummy meal THANK YOU ONCE AGIAN!!!!

I had the elk cheeseburger and it was probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Service was great. You get a hunters lounge kinda atmosphere.

The fish and chips here are amazing! Best EVER!! Fun place to go. Make sure you are OK with seeing animals that have been through the taxidermy process!! It’s always a fun experience here. They were getting ready to have a special event, so the kitchen was closing, but they got us fed last minute anyway. Took my uncle for his first time. He loved it!

Went here with a few friend during our guys trip at the Delta. The decor is definitely something out of a Safari. We were sat right away and order was taken quickly. We all had a beer and the fish n chips special. The fish was quite flavorful and fresh in quality.
