The pork belly is well cooked and seasoned, fried chicken is crispy but blend if without the sauce, the kimchi fried rice is flavorful but not the dry-style fried rice, the steam dumplings are folded differently, the vegetables salad is fresh, the stir fried octopus is flavorful, but the texture is very chewy, and last, the sides dishes are very simple. The waitress is friendly, and there are many Korean alcohol selections.

We arrived at around 11:45, Google Maps showed 2:00 AM closing, we went in and the waitress said it would close at 12:30. We ordered at 11:50, and the waitress urged us to eat at 12:00, and at this time we just said, “Okay.” The fried chicken was served at 12:10am, and the waitress brought the bill at 12:12am, so I picked it up and saw that a 20% tip had been charged. I asked her if the tip was mandatory, and she said that she had told me. I asked her what you said, and she said they close at 12:30, so I asked her if the tip was mandatory again, and she said I could change it. I didn’t understand the rest of her Korean English but I guess the meaning was for us to pay quickly. I said I would pay at 12:30. But I went to pay at 12:22 and gave the 20% tip and the waitress didn’t say anything and gave me a bad face. I left the store at 12:29, there were two other tables of customers, both Korean, and no one was there to urge them to leave.

Had some pretty good Korean food. Kind of reminded me of a place I went to in Busan when I visited there a couple years ago. Went with some friends, but I think I went too Korean on them. Actually had their silkworm. Brought back some memories eating it growing up in Korea.

Dae Bak. was my first time here, and yeah. Is a good place small and the service was good. The food we tried was more than ok. The spicy chicken needs better flavor. But the rice cake was mega delicious also the soup. Is a good place to enjoy.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been to my fav Korean comfort food late night hangout. I’m not sure why such low stars as I have not witnessed any issues with food quality and service. On busy nights ..yes you will need to sign in and get on a list and wait but Dae Bak is one of those places open past midnight (2am) that has great food and fun Korean vibes .

This was a real gem I found simply by looking for food at a late hour: they were open till 1:20 AM. However, the food was quite excellent, and I’ll happily come again during the day! The complimentary appetisers were all tasty, the spicy baby octopus was delicious with a side of noodles, and the kimchi pancake gave that a nicely pairing flavour.
