If you’re knowledgeable of traditional Japanese, you will certainly appreciate this restaurant. I’ve been a regular since it opened. One of the cleanest restaurants in the city by far. The chef makes his ramen broth from scratch every day, and it is the most authentic ramen you will find on the east coast – no joke. The same goes for his sushi. He makes his own sauces and rice vinegar. By the first bite you can tell that he uses the best ingredients and the highest quality fish. He puts a lot of time and love into his food, and he is incredibly knowledgeable about the balances of flavor and texture. He works very hard and it shows. I have never eaten better food, not even from my own Asian family members. I highly recommend the tonkotsu, spicy tantan and any sushi with fish.

I’d you are looking for soup, this is the spot in the kanawha valley. The ramen bowls are big, hot, and delicious. On the next cold day, head down, grab some green tea, and enjoy! They also have a decent sushi menu and are happy to make substitutions if there is an ingredient you dont like. Overall,a very laid back spot that is happy to have you dining with them.

Really great sushi. I felt like I got a lot of sushi for the price and it tasted fresh. The atmosphere the few times I have been is very relaxing. The music is usually soft and soothing….Usually not a busy place. The staff are totally amazing. My waitress insisted that I borrow her umbrella because it started pouring outside. I returned it later that day but honestly I was so touched by that. There is a real small town friendliness in this place and I love it.

I never been to any place overpriced like this place. I order shrimp teriyaki lunch special for $10. It supposed to come with white rice, soup or salad and 4 pc of California roll. But they refuse to give me the rolls so I paid $10 for a cup of soup, 1 scoop of rice, 6-7 small to medium shrimps and a bit of cabbage. I’m 93 lb and they can’t even fill me up. First and very last time here. The waiter was nice tho.

The owner was the only one working the night we went. He was very friendly and let us know when we walked in that he wouldn’t be able to do sushi because he was the only one working. Okay, not a big deal even though my guest wanted sushi. We ordered Miso ramen. Came out very quickly. First thing, the broth tasted like Maruchan beef noodle broth. We really weren’t too annoyed and still ate our food. Then about the time we were finished with our bowls, a couple comes in and the owner tells them the same thing, no sushi tonight. Well this woman proceeds to order a d**n California roll and he makes it for her, after telling us he can’t do sushi tonight. So that really made us mad because that’s exactly what my guest wanted. More than likely we won’t be back.

Excellent ramen and sushi. The prices are pretty much what you would expect when getting quality instead of mass produced quantity. If the waitress mentions something is spicy, it’s not a challenge. Said dish is pretty spicy.

a new place, but the ONLY place in town you can get REAL ramen in traditional styles (everyone else serves udon…) The sushi is top notch, the noodle variety is broad, the service is friendly and quick, and everything is always tasty. If you’re like me and you desperately feel the void left by Atlantic Sushi closing, this is the place to fill that empty place!!

My boyfriend and myself have been looking for a good ramen place in the area for what seems like an eternity. Then finally this place opened and now we have definitely found our sushi and ramen spot! The tempura ramen was amazing! We will definitely become regulars.
