Awesome cocktails! All of the staff was very friendly and on top of things. We just stopped in for drinks- they have a great tap list and an extensive whiskey list. We went with cocktails- a Tequila Siesta & a prickly pear martini- delicious! Our bartender customized a drink for us based on what we like- will definitely be back!

Where do I start with a place like this? The ambient atmosphere reminiscent of a relaxed bar on the Nashville strip? The brilliant selection of drinks and the excellent bartenders that deliver them? The barbecue that satisfies my tastebuds so much that I feel like I get withdrawals when it’s finished?

We visited the Lucky Well to celebrate my brother’s birthday. He has been there a bunch of times and loves the bbq wings here.

My girlfriend and I have been meaning to try The Lucky Well for some time. Head Chef Chad Rosenthal recently Beat Bobby Flay on the Food Network show with the same name so there has been much local buzz about this place. Although it has been a staple on Bulter Ave in Ambler for white some time, it is certainly harder to get in than it used to be. With that said, I was pleasantly surprised to see the continued local vibes that exist here.

Came in without reservations on a Saturday evening, but we got sat immediately at the community tables, but it was not too crowded. Food was excellent – we got a burger and burnt ends, but I’d believe in anything on the menu with how good it was. The wait staff was very attentive though stretched maybe a little too thin between serving tables inside and outside. No complaints, though – that was pretty understandable at peak hours on a Saturday. We mentioned that we were dining on a time-limit and she nailed it.

If I’m being honest our most recent visit felt like we were visiting a soon to be closing restaurant. I don’t think we ever felt welcome. We were saddened to find that the liquor license seems to have expired and is in the process of being renewed even though the drink menu still hangs proudly outside the main entrance. The menus are obviously outdated as various menu items have been scratched off or handwritten to make corrections. The dining room was quite dim for a Monday afternoon which seemed odd. The issue of no liquor license could have been overlooked but getting our waters refilled proved to be problematic as our server was either too busy or could not be found. No one else offered to refill our glasses or even noticed that they were sitting empty. In fact our server seemed almost annoyed at us our entire visit. And once again after our plates sat empty and stacked we had to ask for the check. All in all the food quality was good but atmosphere and service were sad to say the least.

The food was excellent. I can’t wait to go back! The drinks, the appetizers and the service were top notch! The atmosphere was great too. Family friendly environment. There’s live music on Fridays and Saturdays, we have to get back for that too. Go take your family, impress your first date with their menu that boast many options in a small or large plate. Definitely has made my top 10 local restaurants

Sliced brisket and St Louis ribs are amazing. Pork sandwich was good too. Brisket sandwich was a little dry. Will definitely try the wings next time

Any review less than 5 stars doesn’t know what they are talking about. This is hands down the best meal I’ve had in a long time. I lived in Arkansas for several years and had my fair share of authentic bbq through Texas, Kansas, etc…the lucky well could go toe to toe. The smoked wings and ribs melt in your mouth. Warm corn bread with homemade honey butter. The fried tomatoes!!! Everything from the atmosphere, to the live band, the incredible service (who have those machines that allow you to pay at the table), I am smitten. This will be a go to. Get your date night plans together!

Unpleasant experience. My wife & I went to the restaurant on 5/21 between 5:45 & 6 pm. The hostess was very pleasant. She sat us & then we waited for our server. It took a while for her to come over. She took our drink orders & then we just sat waiting for at least 10-15 minutes. We watched our server playing on her phone. We never received our drinks. She went to check on the table behind us who already had food. We ended up leaving after that. Drinks never came & order wasn’t taken.
