To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I have been to numerous Golden Krust Restaurants throughout the Tri-State area, but this has got to be one of my least favorite. While the Customer Service was great and the portion sizes were on point, I wish I could say the same about the food. I stopped by to pick up lunch, it took 5 minutes to get back to the office and dive in. My food was cold (not even warm) and it really had no flavor. Usually I love their Cabbage, but not today. The bad thing is, I brought an extra meal for dinner, so now I have “bland food” for lunch & “bland food” for dinner. I ended up giving the shrimp meal to my son, he will eat anything shrimp. As for the curry chicken, I could have cooked it better myself. I love food that’s cooked with love and I just didn’t taste it in either of these meals. I won’t give up on Golden Krust, but not sure if I will try this one again; food is too expensive to be playing guessing games and trying to figure out if this was an isolated situation.

1 year later: I have only had 1 other poor experience that stopped me cold from going here. I returned recently and have been having good experiences until today. I don’t know if it’s shrinkflation or what but literally 4 pieces of curry chicken in a mini still seems not even adequate to suffice a child. Not consistent with recent experiences. It almost seems personal and I don’t enjoy that feeling. It’s just my opinion and I don’t have the serving manual.

I really don’t have any issue with the staff and the level of services they offer. The only thing is that the food tends to be inconsistent at times, especially the rice. Sometimes it’s hard other times it’s ok. It’s a hit or miss. But not everyone is perfect, so when the food taste good they should be credited for their effort.

Too expensive. I skipped many places to come there and was really disappointed in the prices and the service. I left feeling like I should have gone to the supermarket instead to buy meat, rice and pasta and feed my whole family of 5 for the price I paid for 2 meals and a side of macaroni and cheese that added up to approximately $70. My husband was hungry after getting d/c from the hospital that morning and we drove approximately 20 minutes to get him something he would enjoy before taking him home. After all that, he could not even eat the oxtails because there was too much oil. The rice was also unevenly cooked.

This was certainly one the largest Golden Crust I been to in Tri-State area, and it certainly the worst as far as taste and quality. Supposedly I got stewed chicken BUT was like no flavor earlier in the day smothered chicken, rice and beans was just as bad no flavor no tyme, no seasoning. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. Also ordered sweet chili chicken the same bad. I want to be supportive but when I spend over $40 dollars this was totally unacceptable. I don’t see myself patronizing again.

So I stumbled on this spot driving through Teaneck. I was in the mood for a patty. I parked in the plaza parking lot and seen in the window they had beyond meat patties. I never knew! I walked in and the place was clean and they had so many food options. I have been to Golden Krust all over in different towns and never seen so many options. I ordered the beyond patty and a festival. The servers were so nice. One of them let me go without the exact change and gave me an extra festival. When I got to the car I dug in and the patty was just ok. I usually like beyond meat but this one was just ok and the festival was ok too. I am used to it being sweeter but it wasn’t as sweet. My experience was good and the food was ok. I will be back.

I was so excited to find a Caribbean restaurant and drove 29 miles to get there. We spent over $100 and was very disappointed in the oxtails and Jerk chicken. The meats were not authentic Jamaican cooked food. We had to look back on the receipt to see if we got the wrong chicken. It had no jerk flavor and the oxtails no flavor and was very Expensive. Ackee and salt fish, was bland. My lawyer friend and I was so disappointed. Please ensure that all meals are cooked authentically.

First off the customer service there really needs improvement. It’s been a problem with you guys for a while now and it doesn’t get better. Besides that, the prices is crazy. Almost $40 for oxtail to get skimped out on meat. 4 to 5 little pieces of oxtail for $40? Just got breakfast with the ackee and salt fish and that is almost $20. ( 17 and some change) and it’s not like you guys are giving us the money worth for the food we’re paying for. Do better.
