We stopped in at Brookside Bar and Grill on a whim on the way through the area heading home, and we are so happy we stopped. This off the beaten road bar/restaurant is sitting quite far back from the road and would be difficult to find if you weren’t looking for it. Marissa at the bar is absolutely wonderful. She greets everybody as they walk in with a warm smile and you immediately feel like a friend. The entire menu sounded really good so it was a difficult decision but we decided on the fish and chips meal and the chicken and broccoli alfredo. Both meals were very large and satisfying for the very reasonable price. For two meals we only spent $35. The fish and chips were slightly greasy, but it’s a fried meal so that was expected. He fish, we believe it was cod, was nicely cooked, not as greasy as it looked, seasoned perfectly and flaked apart easily. The coleslaw that came with it was very tasty and not overly saturated with sauce which was good. The fries looked like they were going to be bland but actually had quite a bit of flavor. The chicken and broccoli alfredo was a large plate of food. The pasta (penne) was slightly overcooked and limp but it didn’t detract from the fantastic flavor of the alfredo. Alfredo can be oily or under seasoned very easily, but this alfredo is perfectly seasoned, you can tell it is made in house. The chicken was beautifully cooked, fully cooked but still juicy and flavorful, and the broccoli was treated very gently so it still has a crisp edge to it but it was fully soaked in alfredo goodness. Now, the meals are really good but the chicken alfredo meal came with a cup of soup. I chose the seafood chowder and I regret nothing. This was one of the best soups I have had in years. There were so many incredible layers of flavor in that cup of soup, I could easily devour an entire cauldron of that soup and still want more. We highly recommend visiting Brookside. It is a great place to watch the game or bring your entire family for dinner. Chef is very talented and clearly has a taste for seasoning the food so you really cant go wrong with the meals. This is clearly a gem of a somewhat hidden restaurant.

For the most part the food and drinks where delicious and priced very well. Service was great! The only negative is the French onion soup was ehh, ok, and the chicken Caesar salad had way too much cheese on it.

Stopped for gas and wanted a bite to eat. Quick, friendly service and an absolutely delicious chipotle chicken wrap. Very reasonable price as well. I paid about $9 for the wrap with fries, and $3 for a Bud Light draft. Will definitely be stopping by on my next time passing.

Excellent service, Jenni is the bomb! Been by this place a thousand times, but always to early in the morning. So this trip was dinner time. Drinks were spot on, French onion soup, delicious and my sirloin steak (which I rearly order) was outstanding, medium rear of course. Save room for dessert, apple crisp a la mode really topped off a great meal.

Good food at a good price and the service was better than expected. The stroganoff was very tasty even though a bit too saucy and the burger was fair but the hero was the chicken and broccoli alfredo. Overall it’s worth a try and we’ll be going back.

Really dirty place, worked there can honestly attest the tables and floors are always sticky- they will sometimes go hours without being wiped down, “chefs” touch their noses and don’t wash hands after the bathroom and continue to cook. Silverware always has spots, plates are always dirty and the cleaning system is extremely ineffective. They use rotting limes and lemons for their drinks. They allow the garbage and dirty towels to be in very close proximity to the food being made. The bar usually has a pile of moldy, wet towels in the corner near the fridge (I think it’s to soak up the condensation of the fridge but towels rarely if ever get changed out) The customer service is okay as long as the owner is fighting with you (feel free to read Facebook reviews on that) and the bartender isn’t extremely intoxicated (which very rarely happens and is very illegal.)
