Stopped for lunch, and we had a full bruschetta board to start. We were able to choose two flavors and got 3 Olive Tapenade and 3 Spicy Italian Sausage(my favorite), Italian brat on a mustard spread. The offer deli sandwiches and salads for main dishes. We choose the Triple Jump, a great rendition of an Italian, and the Rank, your classic Rueben. The sandwiches were freshly made and included a semi sweet cucumber style relish and a pickle. Owners were welcoming, and they offered serve beer taps offer plenty of Wisconsin beers. We will definitely be returning to try more of their wonderful food.

Visiting our cabin in the Northwoods this weekend and decided to try out this new place, The Checkerboard. Very nicely remodeled location, excellent menu of sandwiches, salads, charcuterie, the best Bruschetta options, and don’t forget to try a beer or three! Excellent menu options at this restaurant, good quality food that’s delicious. Also they have a beer tapper wall you tap your own beverage as you choose.. try a few sips or pour as much and try how many you want they have a wine tapper as well, I will be back

Great little sandwich shop. Very clean and fresh. The food was awesome. Wanted to sample some of the self-serve tap beers on hand but had a few hours of driving. Will definitely stop back next time we head up there and don’t have to drive.

Absolutely loved! Had a chance to sit and sample from the beer wall while chatting with family and enjoying a charcuterie board that was amazing! Will be back next time we’re in the area! The sandwiches and bruschetta that was at neighboring tables looked too tempting not to come back and try.
