Ordered a chicken quesadilla with veggies. Arrived soggy, couldn’t even eat it with a fork and knife without if falling apart, and had bacon on it…menu didn’t say it came with bacon. Absolutely disgusting. Also didn’t even have cheese in it. Will never order from here again.

My husband and I love El Matate! We stopped in one day 5 years ago and haven’t stopped going at least once a week since. The food is delicious! Everything on the menu is delicious! The owner and his wife as well as the servers are so welcoming and friendly! My husband loves fresh cut onions and they always accommodate him on his orders. I recommend this Mexican restaurant to all my friends!

This place exited me when I found it! But it was a major let down. Being a truck driver, I’ve been privileged to get some fantastic Mexican food on the west coast, not to mention great service. This place ignored me after I walked in for 10 minutes, I thought to give them a break but my disappointment only grew when I finally got my table. They served me cold and stale chips and canned salsa. Then my server argued with me about my order, a Carne asada wet burrito, which not only was plain and unexciting but was unseasonably and bland. Horrific experience from start to finish. I’m sorry Nashville has to deal with this imposter of a Mexican restaurant.
