My son had told me about the Drunken Poet. I’m sushi person so always looking for new place. Ordered appetizers, salads and 3 rolls. The rolls are like double normal size. It is a lot of food. Presentation was outstanding. Food was very flavorful. The service was good and timely. Will definitely go back soon when I’m downtown Sarasota.

Went with a group of 8. The food was AMAZING! I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice served in half a pineapple. I have never tasted anything like this. It was so good, that I wanted a second one, but I had also ordered a plate of sushi. I am gluten free and they made sure that my food was not cross contaminated. I wish there was another one of these where I live, but if I find myself back in Sarasota, you can bet that I will be eating here again. And, to top it off, the prices were great for the amount of food you were served. Bravo!! thank you.

Really interesting place for sure. They have good service. The place is well kept and nice inside. The food here is pretty amazing overall I would say the sushi has a lot of great flavor but the entrees don’t have a lot of flavor to them they are a little on the bland side but if that’s what you like then the entrées will be perfect for you. I definitely recommend you check this place out.

Well staffed small eatery right on Main St. Menu is on an iPad but server will take your order. Service was prompt. Decent menu selection. Might be a challenge for those not tech savvy. Prices are high as they are everywhere.

Dad and I wound. Up at Drunken Poet for lunch, by accident. We’d been aiming to go to the French place across the street, but it just looked like too much and we were parked on the opposite side and I LOVE Thai food and sushi and Dad thought Drunken Poet was the place he usually gets his fried rice from, only with outdoor seating. (Mom and Dad ONLY do outdoor dining…)

We sat at outside table. Was perfect weather and atmosphere. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had chicken satay to start. We had sushi rolls and crispy duck for main courses. Perfectly prepared. Very tasty. Will go back soon.

I remember going here years back and things have changed. We got two starters: Crab Rangoon and Sumai, the size of each starter was so small, you’d have to order double orders of each just to really enjoy them. We split a roll and it was decent but not like the quality from prior. It’s a shame because this was one of my favorite places to go. Things have changed.
