It was okay, was disappointed in what small amount of food I received for the price. Wish the website would have been more descriptive on the meal sizes. If you make your own mac bowl it costs more for every topping rather than ordering a Mac & cheese bowl off their menu. Also their bacon was very chewy like a bag of bacon bits bought from a grocery store. Much cheaper and probably better tasting to cook at home.

My sister and I have been so eager to try mac shack and were NOT disappointed!! We had the buffalo chicken mac which was incredible and Kaleen’s Pie of the week which was also delicious. Everyone was so friendly and the service was so quick! Plus they have coke instead of pepsi which is always a plus in my book. We love having mac shack in athens!!!

The woman working who took our order this evening (around 6:30 today) was great. It was our first time trying it out and she gave us an enthusiastic run down of popular choices and her favorites. We went with the Powerhouse and her recommendation of the Buffalo Springfield. Both were fantastic. They came out searing hot (that’s a huge bonus in our book) and they were delicious. Highly recommend.

I see a lot of reviews docking this place for taking so long but isn’t that expected on an opening night when staff is getting their routine down? Not to mention the number of customers there was probably huge. Even a day after, and the wait for me was only 10 min. I carried out a Fleetwood Mac and it was delicious! I’ve always wanted to be proximal to a mac and cheese place and I believe my wish has finally been granted

It was good and hot but not a lot of meat and quite pricey for the serving size. As a local I don’t see it doing much business in the summer without big price cuts/special deals. ••••• Update: commented on my review offering a free meal “retry” but when I reached out to get it they never responded back. As you can see they have also removed that response. •••••

This restaurant is like a weird dream come true for me. As a lover of Mac and cheese, I was super psyched to see this restaurant on google when I was looking for places to eat while I was visiting the university. The service was good and the Mac and cheese was very tasty delicious. The little Monday night deal that they have going on is pretty fantastic too.

I can’t believe some of these reviews, of course they were busy on opening night in a college town! My wife and I got the half priced mac on Monday, we both had more food than we could eat. Definitely worth a visit, we will be back for sure!

The food was really good. Quite the wait, but that was because it was opening day and there was a huge crowd. I only saw about three or four people working at one time, so that really made their opening hard, I’m sure. But overall, great food and I can see this being a great spot for Athens and the Ohio University community. Hoping this is used as trial and error because there are obviously some things that could be changed, but the food was really worth it in my opinion. People are excited to see different options on Court Street, and I’m excited to see how this works once things sort of even out.
