You know a place is good when it’s the locals’ Go To for breakfast. The staff greeted several people by name, which tells me a lot about their fare, and even more about their customer service. My friend and I had the oft-served Two Egg Breakfast and the Bannerman Bowl. The former with lots of breakfast favorites on a platter, the latter with anything that wasn’t on that platter in a bowl with grits. Both were fabulous! I have to make special mention of the biscuit, because it was a real southern flaky soft biscuit. I’ve eaten lots of biscuits, even in places that name themselves after their biscuits, and this topped them. This was the kind of biscuit your grandma was rolling out well before you were born and sustaining families on for breakfast and supper every day. Gotta get a biscuit. Enjoy your meal AND get a T-shirt. There will be a wait, but it’ll be worth it.

If you’re looking for straight forward, good cooking, this is the place. For anyone who gives a 1-star rating and expresses how unhappy they were with the service, keep in mind the massive majority of people who provide a 5-star rating and are/were very happy with the customer service. This just proves “you can’t please them all” and when people themselves are having a bad day, they want to blame the reason on someone else… The employees and servers at Ma’s do their very best to provide the very best.

Quite the mellow and simple place with an analog music background to keep the vibe alive – was playing the classic Isley Brothers… I ordered the fried chicken biscuit covered in sawmill gravy and a side of cheese grits. The chicken is perfection and should be ordered regardless of how you want it! One of the best in town. Grits are solid! I wish they would step up their pork sausage options for breakfast. Staff is super nice 🙂

We love Ma’s Diner! It has such a homey feel and the staff is always wonderful. The prices are very affordable and it’s simple but delicious food! So thankful to have this favorite spot up on the north side of town. The service is always quick too!
