We love Big John’s BBQ! The portions are amazing! The pork is our favorite and is even better the next day! For the amount of food you receive you are definitely getting your money’s worth! Love the pork baked potato and there is enough meat for two meals! We call ahead for a to go order and it is always ready to go when we arrive! Thanks for all the yummy meals!

Looking at this place from the road, it’s a dive: half the building seems to be somehow morphed into a used car lot next door, the sign out front looks like its salvage from a hurricane, and the ambiance and the A/C are kind of unique once you do go inside. BUT PLEASE, do overlook all of that, because this place is a GEM! It is a veritable palace of fantastically good BBQ! The pulled pork is the best I’ve had in a long time (ever since the Georgia Pig closed up down in Brunswick.) Even without any sauce the pulled pork is succulent, nicely spicy and flavorful, and very juicy. Add Big John’s spicy sauce and for me, it is just right. The ribs are excellent too! And the sides are solidly good if not downright excellent. For instance, if you like fried okra get it here, it is absolutely perfect; while on the other hand, the beans are kind of generic but nevertheless still good solid beans, if you like beans. In addition to the pork, we tried out the loaded potato which is massive, chock full of the BBQ meat of your choice, very yummy, and it can easily feed two normal people. The folks running the joint are super friendly and attentive. And best of all the price is right! Dinner plates for 3 and drinks, all-in for under $30; with BBQ of this high quality, you just can’t go wrong. Go to Big John’s as soon as you can, and getcha some!

The food is great, service is fantastic. The staff have always been friendly and helpful.You get a lot of food at a very nice price. This is more of a to go place. The restaurant is small with no atmosphere.

These folks are great always have a good meal. You will want to come back again and again. Whatever you order is cooked like you like it. The only thing is when you come here you need to forget about the diet at least for this one meal. Enjoy
