My recent experience was not that great. My son ordered the biscuits and gravy, and the biscuits sort of look like canned biscuits. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with a double order of hash brown casserole, and hash brown casserole had so much pepper in it and was old looking and tasted funny. The chef was just off their game that day. They had one waitress for the whole side, and was running her ragged and there seem to be several people just standing around. The building itself was incredibly cold and they had the fans on so much so that we were shivering before we left. I’m not sure that last thing is a complaint though considering it’s been a hundred and four degrees in alabama.

We were quickly seated in an empty section. We were seated next to a dirty empty table. The next two tables were seated right next to us. The dirty table remained dirty, the only person to go to the table was the waitress for her tip. The food was not very good. We have eaten at other cracker barrels and the food has been much better.

Gross, gross, gross. Shrimp tasted like old cooking oil as did the fried chicken fingers. I asked for grilled chicken fingers. I asked for steak sauce and never got it. Sirloin steak bites were nasty and had a weird taste. Mashed potatoes and gravy were cold and gelatinous. Turnip greens were pretty good. Caramel Frappe was yummy. Husbands hamburger steak tasted like mystery meat and dumplings were terrible and cold. Okra was nasty and old tasting. They completely forgot the cornbread/ biscuits. Checkers was fun.

Hash brown casserole, fried apples, chicken tenders were finger licking good. 30 min wait for the table was worth it. Can’t wait to go back again and try different food. Service was second to none.
