Was on the fence trying this place because the review are very up and down.

A hole in the wall. Some of the best cooking comes out of these places. The environment was relaxing. Food had some really good flavor even their aguas frescas. Service was fast. Cafe was clean.

It was okay at best. I was curious about this place and wanted to give it a try. I had ordered a burger called Tu Madre (was okay), but Fries were not included. I got some nachos as a side instead ( I noticed they were corn torilla that was cut up and fried rather than tostadas. It did have some shredded meat and pinto beans, but the nachos themselves could have had more salt) or flavor. The service was not as bad, but it could have been better. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I probably won’t be going back.

I thought the food was good. The music was fun. The environment looked clean. A lot of drink options. I would describe the dish as enchiladas made with chips instead of tortillas. You can add your choice of meat. They have different types of sauces to choose from. You can add an egg cook to order. It was good. I would do it again.

Pretty deli! Old school Mexican style dishes love that the chicken in my tacos could have used more flavor! Overall a 4.

The tortilla chips appear to be homemade, which is nice. The salsas were good, they had just the right amount of kick without sacrificing the flavor or overpowering the flavor with heat. I ordered the chilaquiles montados, with the green sauce which was a first for me. The cook accommodated my request to have my eggs scrambled since I’m pregnant and can’t have over easy eggs. The meal had large portions and came with refried beans and potatoes. The potatoes were delicious and had a hint of seasoning salt without being caked in one section like some places. I’ll certainly be going back to try other things.

Let me get straight to the point. We like menudo with an equal balance of meat (tripe) and corn (hominy). This menudo was practically all hominy. I would say 90% corn and only 10% meat! Every spoonful was just corn. You had to search for the pieces of meat! We were very disappointed and will not buy menudo from La Chancla again.

I should have listened to the reviews. The place is cute and clean. But the food was stale and not that great. Ordered chilaquiles but were dry and stale. The gorditas were good though. I don’t think I’ll be going back.

Very good burgers and fries but the enchilada tortillas were not fried and the servings could have been bigger.
