Amazing experience and service! Ashlyn is a great server and was so welcoming. I hate to say it but that kind of experience is rare these days. Highly recommend Bodega for the great food, atmosphere and service.

Quirky downtown Wake Forest restaurant marries the ambiance of a French bistro, a Spanish tapas bar, and a creative spirit-focused bar-driven gastropub. Led by Serge, a friendly, experienced, and warm Frenchman who used to own a restaurant in Paris, Bodega reads like a European fusion spot where you get to try things that will taste amazing – just not what you expected. Instead of American takes on a Peruvian style chicken, or a North Carolinian take on Sicilian Arancini (ah-ran-CHEE-knee), you get what Serge has experienced in Europe, mixed up a touch. The staff is friendly and incredible – they know they’re working at a great place and are happy to introduce you to what they have to offer. The spirit list includes a large variety of rums – rare in NC, which of course has its selection limited by the poorly run ABC system (none of the great Foursquare rums from Barbados because why would the ABC know about that?). Cocktails are short, but ask and they’ll make you something special. The wine list is excellent, curated by a Frenchman who knows how wine marries to food. And happily it includes local NC wines, because we do have some great ones. The plates are generally small but shareable – tapas, after all, and before you complain that tapas should only be Spanish, recall the wonderful cicchetti in Venice – and allow you to have a little custom tour of delicious options. If you’d prefer a single larger dish there are a few options for that as well. Don’t sleep on dessert – there’s some great choices there. We opted for the rum soaked cake and pecan pie and they were divine. Highly recommended.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Wake Forest! I love starting with a Kir Royal each time. Tonight, my husband tried the white port and the Orchard Sangria. The Sangria was amazingly fruity and light and tasted like summer!

Bodega is an absolute local gem that should not be missed. Serge (executive chef and owner) has put together a menu that offers a succulent array of foods and flavors that will appease almost any palate. From seared tuna to Peruvian chicken and escargot to foie gras crème brûlée… there are so many options you’ll want to come back to try what you couldn’t try because you were too full on that visit!

Cannot say enough good things about this place and its menu. For starters our server was so kind and never skipped a beat on checking on us, making sure our table was cleared between each time we ordered and asking if we were satisfied with everything. The food was incredible. We had The Kimchi broccoli with cashew and yogurt sauce, French onion soup, Gnocchi with Raclette cheese, Lamb Meatballs, and finished with the Pecan & Pear Pie. Portion size was perfect for 2 to share and loved being able to try so many different things. Service was quick, drinks were strong and even after we received our bill and paid our waiter Nick continued to check in with us and refill our ice water while we were there for almost another half hour. If your in downtown Wakeforest make it a priority to pop into Bodega.

We absolutely loved the food! The tuna was so good, definitely my favorite. And the gnocchi (not pictured) is a must! It’s important to understand that tapas is supposed to come out of the kitchen staggered. It’s best to share and taste everything. Enjoy a small bites with and relax in between. I agree with some of the reviews that the restaurant is louder than expected for tapas but its still a very enjoyable experience.

Had dinner with friends to celebrate a birthday Wednesday night. The food was very good, drinks were over priced. I recommend the gnocchi dish and empanadas.

We really like Bodega! We love that the menu is always changing and we get to try new things. We’ve been multiple times that are never disappointed! This past time we went we had a dish with gnocchi which literally tasted like clouds in a cheese sauce, they were delicious! For us it’s a place we go for a special occasion or celebration

This is my second trip to this restaurant on a whim of a date night. In the past it has not come to the top of our list because my wife is gluten-free and we didn’t know how things would be handled. They had a dedicated gluten-free menu and we’re excellent to educate us on the menu. Besides that the food was spectacular and I am very picky when it comes to food. I had the grilled octopus but the star of everything was the broccoli yes I said the broccoli! Also I love a good rum and they had a fantastic selection. I loved the look and feel and ambience of the space. I highly highly recommend you visit Bodega we will be coming back again very soon✌️
