A favorite for Chinese food which is well above average and with great service. I haven’t gotten to try the sushi but Orange Chicken? General Tso’s? Crab Rangoon? Yeah – all are great with tons of high quality protein prepared and cooked well. Also the servings are generous leaving plenty to share or take home.

Ordered online, picked up food checked bag, thought everything was okay but they left out the rice. I called back and expressed my displeasure. Was told I could come back and get the rice or get a credit. I told them “how about both” the gal agreed. So I pick up the rice and ask how to get on the credit list. The cashier tells me the credit is only good for an appetizer. Disgusted I walk out. Get home, the rice tastes like they cooked it in dish water, the chicken is tough and they think I’m going back just for an appetizer? Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. $34 for a terrible dinner?

Mirroring the previous review; I ordered online and had issues with service. We ordered takeout, and when I got home I realized I could not eat my food due to an allergy that was not listed on their menu. When I called the store, I was told that as it wasn’t the restaurant’s fault they would not be issuing a refund, despite it not being listed on their menu.

Food was excellent as usual but we sat by a table full of dirty dishes. No one else in restaurant but us. Also never took our dirty dishes away. They usually always keep the table clear. Waitress sat at a table and looked at an ipad the whole time.

They have great gluten free options but the prices are high. We actually started driving to 135th and Newman which is 10 minutes farther because we felt the food was better. Not sure if it’s two brothers that own one of each location but the food here has been declining along with the service. For the cost of the food, the rice should at least be to the top. $5.00 for a small to go container of steamed veg. The only reason I continue to go here is because it’s the only local Chinese restaurant that offers gluten free.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Overland Park. Order any of the Wok Roasted dishes and you won’t be disappointed. All the food is 5 star for us, except the hot and sour soup.

We have been coming to the Metcalf Fortune Wok for years and love it! Our favorite dishes are Wok Roasted Chicken and Sesame Chicken but there are many more we love too! Their crab rangoon and spring rolls are delicious and always freshly made. The ambience is warm and inviting with lots of booth seating. The service is kind, fast, and attentive. Steve, the owner, treats everyone like family and wants to make sure his customers are happy!
