For anyone looking at the star ratings, be sure to note that anything recent has been poor. The five star ratings seem to be from a long time ago with previous owners. We previously ate here at least once a week, a lot less in recent months, and now probably not again.

Let me start by saying that my hubby loves Sourdough and Co. I’m a vegetarian, so the options for me are limited here. We visited this location for the first time and we were both very disappointed. The people working at that time were a bunch of self-absorbed teens who didn’t even bother to acknowledge our presence when we walked in. They acted as if we were bothering them by being there. It was a slow time of the day, a little before 3pm, and we were the only ones there. They could’ve at least stopped talking to each other to greet us, but that proved to be too much for them. When we got home with our order, my husband’s clam chowder soup was only halfway filled and he barely had any meat in his sandwich. Terrible service paired with half portion servings even though we paid for the full serving = we’re not going back to this location!

I had the “Clam Chowder” sourdough bread bowl. Which is funny, because it didn’t taste anything like clam chowder. It was the most bland potato soup I ever had AND the bread bowl wasn’t sourdough at all. As I was waiting for my soup I saw them bring out big plastic bags of soup and cut them open and heat them up. It made me sick to my stomach. Save yourself some money and dissapointment. Go somewhere else.

First off, I know finding good help right now is hard, and the employees at this location were nice and greeted me right away…however…that is where it ends. I watched as the cashier rang up someone paying cash. He then handed back the change and went immediately back to making sandwiches and touching meat with the SAME gloves he had on when handling money! GROSS!!! I quietly asked for a manager (one because I didn’t want to embarrass the cashier and two, I don’t think it is my place to speak directly to an employee about proper food safety when I assume that should come from a manager or someone who knows the public health safety requirements in their own facility.) Anyway, I was told there was no manager, but someone came over who said “I am the closest thing” and I proceeded to tell him what I saw. At that point the cashier came over and in voice loud enough for the entire place to hear and said “you could have just told ME, you didn’t need to ask for a manager” and then proceeded to make a big scene as he dramatically replaced his gloves (and did so dramatically with each sandwich/cash register switch addressing me each time). Patrons were all looking around asking me why the scene. The “manager” addressed me and said “I am so sorry…everyone knows they should change gloves, but they don’t listen. Also, we get in trouble for too many glove changes so I don’t really know what to do.” Bottom line, we frequent this place often, but no more for us. Bummer because the food is great.

We walked in with a coupon from another place that had sourdough in the name and thought it was for this restaurant and when the girl at the counter saw the coupon she rudely and disrespectfully told us that they did not accept coupons and that we needed to get out of the restaurant if we were going to use it. When I explained that we just simply made a mistake and that we were sorry she told us to put down the chips that we had in our hand and to get out that they weren’t going to serve us. Will not be coming back.

Hit or miss with the bread. Some days it’s really good, others, the bread feels overcooked or stale.

I paid extra for peppers and pepperoncini but paid even more when I attempted to eat it. Thick slabs of pepper and the icing on the cake was the pepperoncini stem ends. Don’t expect to see me again!
