Today I had an amazing lunch break not only because of the delicious food but excellent service. Walked in a few minutes before 12 and had the place all to myself for a short period of time. Regardless I can tell the service here is top notch because the owner is most attentive and friendly. I didn’t really have a dish in mind like most times and that worked out for the best because the dish I had was a special of the day so let’s talk about it….

This was the worst Italian food I have ever eaten in my entire life. There was one small slimey piece of chicken and a brick of noodles. It was horrible. Do not ever order from here. This place is so bad I would rather have little Ceasers. It is the worst Italian food in south Florida

I have no idea what these high reviews are talking about. Possibly friends of the owner. Maybe a year ago this was a great restaurant. Firstly, on a Friday night the restaurant was empty except for one bickering couple. The owners office is set up by the entrance. We decided on the lasagne and salmon from the menu. Those were not available. The owner suggested some dishes he invented based upon what he had in the kitchen. We were given complimentary bruschetta. The bread was rock hard. The food arrived. It was cold. Overall for $110, it was probably one of the worst meals I have had at a restaurant.

I have been eating at Portobello with my business partner for close to 10 years. The food is great, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the owners are amazing. They are friendly, hospitable, and the food is great. If you want a great local neighborhood where you are made to feel welcome. Portobello is the place to go.

I got the chefs special for that day (see pics) no sauce was really on there and I didn’t know. I didn’t know because I couldn’t ask the waitress. Couldn’t ask her because she spoke no English whatsoever. I was amazed because this is an Italian restaurant. I’m in Miami but I didn’t know I could go to a restaurant like this and the wait staff wouldn’t speak the language of the country or restaurant I was in.
