Started over 35 years ago as a family-owned and operated business, the story began when the family moved from Texas to Seattle, and decided to start a business making chicken like they used to back home.
Lewis and the family saw their mission as simple: Provide fresh & high quality chicken and good homemade side dishes, served with fast and courteous service. In short, Ezell’s Famous Chicken had to be Fresh, Good and Fast!
Ezell’s has become a household name in Seattle and developed a loyal following throughout the PNW. Today, there are 14 locations, a dedicated catering division and two mobile food trucks to serve the growing customer base.

Chicken was super dry and breading was burnt and hard. Even my 5 year old complained it was burnt. Never coming back here again. Better going almost anywhere else. Bathrooms dirty, tables had left over chicken, floors were super nasty. Overall left disappointed in every aspect, but most of all the food was the biggest let down. Also, it’s not cheap.

I have never been disappointed with this place. Chicken tenders always on point. If you came and had a bad experience I would suggest trying again. The mashed potato side is definitely not homemade but I think that’s why I like it so much haha. The rolls are soft, moist, and fresh! My wife says their BBQ sauce is the best in town, I’m sure it’s just from a bottle but like let us know what brand . Honestly they’re bone in chicken is ok…it sits for a bit tho, but that’s the business. You can’t cook bone in to order! Anyway. I don’t go enough

I always place my order online and it’s always fresh and ready within 10-15 minutes. It’s also worth checking while there to see if your order is correct when placing large orders as well as confirming your food is not overcooked (only happened once but I check every time).

When I moved to WA I was told by several ppl that this is the best chicken around. I must respectfully disagree. I’m not a fan of their chicken at all. I’m a southerner and I don’t play when it comes to eating fried chicken. Ezell’s just ain’t it. The biscuits are good, I can say that.

I have no idea why this location is so different from the one in Central District. The one in CD makes you feel like you came to someone’s house for dinner. But here, I got a guffaw when I asked a question about the menu, no one even smiled despite there being no line, and the chicken tenders were under seasoned and the sides were meh. This style of food is all about love, and you can taste it when there is no love. I won’t be returning to this location until they have more love and respect for the food and culture they are representing.
