Seafood lover’s dream! Always enjoy supporting restaurants like this. Owners are husband and wife and are making delicious food unlike anything in downtown Rockford. Even the cocktails are hand crafted and original. Beer and wine are also imported directly from Peru. They say you eat with your eyes first and I can tell you the dishes at LimaMar are beautiful. Chef also designed the interior of the restaurant. They’ve been open since 2019 and we regret not coming here sooner!

The food here is delicious and the atmosphere is very nice. But unfortunately we will not be going back. We have been here 2 times and each time there was only 2 other tables (2 top and a 4 top). Unfortunately both times we waited 2 hours after we ordered to get our dinner. We thought it was a fluke the first time but then it happed again. 2 hours is to long to wait for dinner.

Amazing! Highly recommend this restaurant for both ambiance, food flavor & presentation. Thank you – will visit again! Thought: consider having decaffeinate coffee for guests who prefer this with dessert. Note: forgot to take a photo of the Fuji Salmon before diving in…but it was delicious too!

We went as a group and at first everything seemed okay. The place seemed clean. The decorations and vibe was nice. Our cocktails tasted good. Unfortunately, things quickly turned horrific. The service was awful. We found multiple long hairs in multiple different dishes. When we told the staff he didn’t seem to believe us until we showed him. Then, it got dark and the doors were open and moths began to swarm everywhere. They began landing in our food and on the tables. They never shut the door. Finally, when we told them we wanted to split the bill, it took them 35minutes and two employees to do it! We were there for three hours! Awful experience. I’ll never go again.

Great dinner with friends at Lima Mar! Great food! Very interesting atmosphere and decorations! One employee working the dining room on a busy Friday night stretched the service out. She did a great job of trying to service a restaurant and bar on her own. There were occasionally two other people who would pop out from the kitchen and get really confused about where to take food. I’m not sure that they were really being much help. Two hours to work through a dinner service for four people was slow paced but worked for us that evening.

Very welcoming decor, beautiful ocean-like. The food was very disappointing: bland, too salty or too sweet. I didn’t even finish my food. Great presentation, but food didn’t live up to it and i love Peruvian food. And it was overpriced! I really wanted to enjoy it but none of what I tried was authentic tasting. The service was great through; server was attentive.

We enjoyed the soft open and were greeted warmly by the owners and staff. The food was delicious and we tried the chicken, beef, and quinoa entrees. I’d love to come back for the ceviche. The decor was bright and inviting, with Peruvian art that catches the eye. Great experience, looking forward to seeing how this place develops!

This restaurant truly deserves to be in Chicago or Vegas. From the presentation, to the quality of the food, the carefully crafted cocktails, the ambiance, to the amazing service, this whole experience was 100000/10. The owner truly knows what he’s doing and you can see his passion through the food & your dining experience.
