Well, it’s another Thai restaurant in Eugene! I’m sure you feel my excitement, lol. Today, when I went to Ume Grill, they said they were out of beef for the Beef Bulgogi Plate. This was the second time happening in two weeks. Since it’s one of the only items I really like on the menu, I told them I’ll pass, and went to Suriyothai a few doors down. I’d been scoping Suriyothai for a while, so I thought it’d be a perfect time to check them out. I chose the Chili Fried rice because it looked a little different. Although it was very hot, which I like in good Thai food, it just wasn’t anything that blew me away. The portions were an okay size, and all ingredients seemed fresh. It just wasn’t anything that really made me feel … “Wow, this is different than the 20 other Thai restaurants in Eugene.” I’ll probably go back at some point to check out a noodle dish, but it will probably be the next time Ume Grill is outta beef.

Very nice spot! Love the food, fast service and consistent quality. I still need to try more on the menu because it’s pretty thorough on variety. Super cute decorations. Cozy seating indoor and outdoor. Great spot for a date or family dining!

Consistently great food! Portion size, price, service 10/10 — new favorite Thai restaurant in town. I got Pad Thai with tofu and added vegetables yesterday and it was delicious!

We recently moved to town and discovered Suriyothai Kitchen. We love Thai food and Suriyothai has some of the best dishes we have had. Their food is fresh and flavorful. We have tried new dishes each week and they are full of fresh vegetables, micro-greens and layers of spice. We love this place and the service is exceptional and welcoming.

I’ve been to a lot of Thai restaurants in Eugene, and grew up with Thai family members that really know how to cook. Being decently experienced with Thai food, I can say, confidently, that this place nailed it. The service is friendly, fast, and attentive. Can’t recommend this place enough to anyone who likes Thai food, and certainly to anyone who’s interested in giving it a shot.

The last thing this town needed was another middling Thai restaurant but here we are. It was ok. But there is amazing Thai food 5 minutes away. Anything but Thai, sushi, or pizza would do a LOT better in this neighborhood. I swear, restauranteurs are allergic to doing research in this town and will stack identical menus on the same block because they wanna do what they wanna do (at the expense of turning a profit). Then they close and blame it on the neighborhood instead of trying to be what their patrons actually need. If they put a really good (not gluten free ffs) quick takeout burger menu in that spot, it would be like printing money. You know how much of the construction workers building the new Y would spend everyday on burgers? I guarantee that spot would sell more in burgers in a month than a sit-down Thai place will do in a year. I’m already looking forward to what will be in that spot when this restaurant’s lease is up and they inevitably close. Hopefully, the next tenants will do their research because there is a big pile of money to be made with the correct business model placed directly across the street from the new Y. None of those hungry swimmers are going to go sit down for an expensive plate of noodles.

My order was delivered 40-45 minutes later than expected. The jasmine rice was missing. The salad rolls were substituted with spring rolls. The curry had 2 pieces of potatoes and just a few pieces of meat with a soupy sauce that was tasty but no rice to put it in.
