Food was great the owner Will was very cool he came to check our table . We will definitely be visiting again . The mix drinks I would like to be a little stronger . There’s a hookah lounge in the back. They do not accept cash . You have to pay for your food before they bring it to your table . Which is no problem for me. Plan on returning and trying the ox tails next time .

Food was Amazing! Service was Great! Finally we have a place that I can order Real Chicken & Waffles and not no chicken tenders and waffles… .People need to definitely try this place out and just be patient; they are a new establishment and can only fix something if you come to management and let them know your experience before you blast them on reviews. I’m so glad they are here and down the street from my house. I’ve been 5 times already. Oh and the fish/shrimp & grits are AMAZING!!!! Ya’ll Check it out ! I approve this message aka “HOMIE”

One waiter for the whole establishment and he kept forgetting to give us certain things. The food was mediocre at best and the ordering system is terrible. I ordered drinks and an appetizer for myself and 2 sons and gratuity of $5 was added the first time and when I ordered the actual meals, gratuity of $13 was added. When asked about this, I was told they couldn’t take it off. I will not go back because I was not impressed. The only good thing was the nice look and cleanliness (the fabuloso was a bit strong) and the guy bringing the meals and bus boy were friendly.

I decided to choose this place to eat out for my 39th birthday. The food was good although they did not have the side that originally ordered so I had to substitute. And to top it off someone decided to start a shooting outside by the glass window me and my husband was sitting by trying to enjoy the food that we received 51 mins after ordering.

Essence is a great place to relax and enjoy a meal, listen to great music, and enjoy a drink. I have been here a few time and have always been pleased with the environment, food, and drinks. So far, I have tried and recommend the oxtail tacos, wings, chicken and waffle, and frozen sidecar. There was a minor hiccup with the tab closing before I expected, but the owner was very quick to making it right. Shout out to the Owner! The waitresses were very attentive, however they may need to work on the frequency of coming to the table. There is a fine line when it comes to being attentive and a little too much. Overall a great experience. Recommended for a solo trip or large parties. I will definitely be back and wish this restaurant success in the future.

My frist time try this restaurant heard ad on radio. Check out menu online. I notice they had lamb chops and I been having a taste for lamb chops for some time. Let say tonight Essence Restaurant didn’t disappoint my taste buds with those mouth watering lamb chops with mac and cheese, dirty rice.
