Capo’s is an Italian restaurant in Red River New Mexico. It’s right next to a ski lift and the Red River. We had a table that looked out to the ski run – green in August – and saw a deer grazing. Red River is a quaint Alpine resort village at altitude 8250.

Young waitress and just could not get it together. Took 20 min. after we were seated to get drink orders, couldn’t find or open a bottle of wine. Took our order for food. Someone else delivered after a long wait. Then waited for our checks for 20 min. Just to be given to us after done eating. Food was awesome as usual.

Interesting array of reviews…anywhere from 1 to 5 stars. For our experience, it was a vibrant atmosphere, friendly service, and a good pizza at a fair price….so for that alone we give it 5 stars. Looking at the menu the entrees do seem pricey. Would we go back? Sure.

We come to RR every August and eat at Capo’s usually. Tonight, we were taking a friend out for her birthday. Otherwise, I would have left after seeing menu prices!

I give it 2 stars because I had 2 decent experiences there last year. Food was good and service attentive. But trip #3 just a few weeks ago was hard to explain. I was seated after a short wait and never spoken to or acknowledged again. It got a bit comical after a while. Other people were seated and waited on while I just watched the people across from me eat. Finally after 35 minutes in my invisible bubble, I got up and left. I went down the street where I was seated right away, waited on immediately, got some great BBQ within 10 minutes, ate, left a big tip and was out in a shorter amount of time than I spent waiting for someone…anyone to speak to me at Capo’s. Not their best night.

Waitress was nice. Absolute worst garlic cheese bread I’ve ever had. Soft uncooked bread a ton of chunky garlic and cheese barely softened. Wife’s chicken Parm was small and tasteless she said, but pricey at $20 something bucks. Pizza was okay but gave me horrible indigestion. I won’t eat here again though have visited many times over the years.

The pricing sets expectations pretty high. $28 for ravioli is fine, but the ravioli must be amazing. Unfortunately, the food at Capo’s Corner falls considerably short of expectations. The garlic cheese bread was a poor example of cheese bread. The salads ($7 each) were underwhelming.

The food here is pretty good, i’ve never had anything that i didn’t like the only problem i have with Capos is that they only have pizza for to go orders i don’t know who came up with that idea but they should be fired. Not everyone has the time to go in and sit at a table, and the thing is for years they didn’t do that only came to be about a year ago. To me it makes zero sense but i guess they wont get my money.

They have good Dr. Pepper, but the prices are outrageous. The food was okay, nothing to call home about. We did have plenty of leftovers, but those were even worse the second time.
