Delicious bacon cheeseburger and fried pickles. However Craig “greened-out” on a strawberry Rice Krispies edible, freaked out and ran out to the van as soon as the food was served. Iconic restaurant in Erwin in since 1960.

Super intimate atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our diner style meal. French fries were awesome. We didn’t have a milk shake, but we saw one served. It looked fabulous. The person who ordered the milk shake really enjoyed every bite.

This little hole-in-the-wall offers more than meets the eye! If you blinked you’d miss this vintage masterpiece of a diner, and that’d be a shame because Dari Ace offers fresh homemade diner food along with indulgent favorites like malt milkshakes and root beer floats. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the prices are more than decent. If you’re anywhere near Interstate 26 near Exit 40, make the 2 minute detour off the exit and experience the nostalgic taste of yesteryear. You won’t be disappointed.

This place had been in the area for several years, so I figured it was finally time to see what the hype was all about. That’s all it really is, hype. The uninviting atmosphere you get when you walk in is dense. If you aren’t a regular, you won’t feel welcomed. It’s an unorganized mess of a restaurant with people getting served out of order and at random. We had ordered two cheeseburgers and it took an hour to get. Upon receiving the burgers and fries, we weren’t offered ketchup for the fries. The service is just abysmal. Never checked if we needed any condiments or more to drink. Pretty much we had to let them know we were done eating so they could get us a bill. The establishment seems unable to handle the order options they have. They’ve got a drive thru, take out window and dine in bar to serve, and it seems they can’t handle any of them.

Food was cold. The service was mediocre at best. It took almost 30 minutes to get our order even though our food was bagged and sitting at the window. It took an additional 10 minutes after food was bagged to make a chocolate milk shake. The place had one other person there to order. Food would have been great if it was hot.

Definitely can’t knock the food but I’ve been here many times and the same thing almost always happens. I call in my order, show up 15 minutes after to pick it up, then I get in line behind someone who is placing their order at the window. They sit there for another 15 minutes, get their food before mine and by the time I get up there, my food is ready, but cold. I’d advise putting up a sign that says you can’t place orders in the drive thru so this doesn’t happen because I really do like this place.
