I come from Culpeper to try the tacos de birria from el asador because a friend recommended it to me and and he was very happy with it so I wanted to give it a try and I’m so happy I did because it was so delicious, 10/10. For me it is quality over quantity and the quality of their food is honestly one of the best I have had. I left the restaurant very happy with the food, service and everything in general! I would definitely recommend El asador restaurant.

I think they changed cooks or something but the last two times have been bad. We used to get pupusas from here all the time before. This is how they’ve been last 2 times. Once dine in and this one was to go. Both were exact same, stuck together and pile of cheese.

Stopped in with my wife today on a whim. The restaurant offers indoor and shaded outdoor options; we chose indoor dining. We received our menus and turned our attention to the reasonably priced a la carte type items, such as tacos, tamales, and pupusas (my personal favorite). The server brought out a basket of fresh hot tortilla chips and outstanding salsa to have while we decided on our order. Once our order was placed, it did not come quickly, but it was so worth the wait. The food was freshly made from scratch and authentic. Outstanding! I regret not taking advantage of the “food mode” in my phone’s camera to show you the beautiful meals our server brought out to us. In particular, I love the pupusas, which have just the right amount of crispiness. I’m big on carmelization and char, and El Asador totally nails it. I could go on and on, but, suffice it to say, I whole-heartedly recommend El Asador. It has the feel of a “Mom & Pop” restaurant, and the food is delicious and authentic. For my wife and I to completely pig out, we spent $28. Compare that to $80 for dinner for out last trip to Outback.

I’m a little bias because I’m from Southern California and I’ve been in Virginia about 1 year and 3 months and I can’t find real or good Mexican food… I ordered chicken tamales, a carne asada burrito and a carne asada taco…. The burrito was pretty good the taco was a little bit under ok… the tamales were TERRIBLE…I’ve never ate a tamale undercooked like these I’ve never had canned potatoes in any tamale I’ve ever had and I have never ever had a tamale with chick peas in it like these plus there was little to no chicken in them…my wife said the carne asada casadia was pretty good… and I prefers a Pepsi thinking I get refills and all they give you and a small can of Pepsi… we live in 2023 let’s get up to date and get a soda machine…
