What a gem. Very eclectic decor. Great Stromboli and friendly service. Dean Martin tunes playing, what more could you want. It’s an old place but it just adds to the feel.

The food was delicious. However my party sat and watched everyone around us receive their meal and we were still waiting. The owner came to clear our table and the realized we still at this point received our meal and out cups were empty. So after choose to if not 30 minutes of being there we finally got our food which we got to go. The waiter just tossed the containers on the table and walked away. We had to ask someone else for pizza boxes and the same waiter came and tossed then on the table. The atmosphere was beautiful the food was great. I guess we were not the kind of guest they were use to serving. Best Stromboli and pizza we’ve had. To bad we won’t ever go there again. Everyone deserves the same courtesy and treatment.

Wonderful! We arrived near closing and they happily accommodated us. The food, wine and service were superb. The jalapeño ravioli was inspired, and our table got the seafood pizza and BBQ chicken pizza. Everything was delicious and our server was amazingly fun and friendly. Superb food in a casual/non-stuffy atmosphere. Cannot recommend highly enough!!!

We were super excited about trying this restaurant as the reviews were absolutely raving. However, it did not live up to expectations. We started with one server and then a different server took over our table, the food was relatively cheap so not too many complaints as you get what you pay for, and the dessert was mediocre. For the cost, it wasn’t terrible but it was far from the wonderful reviews that led us here to begin with. We come to The OBX every weekend and this is one place we will not be returning to. Do not be deceived by the reviews or quaint exterior architecture. I gave 3 stars because the coffee was nice and the beer was cheap.

We had read some reviews of the restaurant and thought we’d give it a go. Extremely excellent food and service. I had the four cheese ravioli which was wonderful, my fiancee had the meat Stromboli which he loved. The bread and vinegar was absolutely remarkable! Service was prompt and very helpful and kind. Highly recommend this restaurant!

On our last family vacation at the Outer Banks we had the privilege of going to La Dolce Vita. Our family of 6 was tired of seafood and wanted something different. We entered “Italian Restaurant” into Google and just happened to pick La Dolce Vita out of the list due to all of its great reviews. The day was June 19, 2013 at around 7pm. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, pulling up you’ll notice the restaurant is attached to a small hotel. If it wasn’t for the reviews we would have probably kept driving. Once we walked in we were greeted by the owner as well as the smell of some great Italian cooking. We were seated right away and had a very friendly waitress. We first ordered the friend calamari as an appetizer and it was great. Next our dinner salads came out and they were also good and included homemade dressing. Shortly after, our dinners arrived. This is when dinner went from good to great. Everyone in our group ordered a different meal and everyone definitely enjoyed their meals. Not one person in our group didn’t say it was probably the best Italian meal they had ever had. I strongly suggest the four cheese Tortellini, it’s to die for! After we all ordered deserts, the cheese cake and Tuxedo Bomb were the best two picks. Due to our dinner being so great that night we went ahead and made reservations for dinner on our last night of vacation. Unfortunately when we showed up on June 21, 2013 for dinner (15 minutes early) the family in front of us was seated down in the booth we had reserved two days prior. When the owner realized he asked if we could come back in 30 minutes due to the fact there were no more seats left in the restaurant. We fought the idea between the group and we were all a little agitated about the incident but decided to go walk around Downtown Manteo for a little while. When we returned we were seated quickly and dinner again was wonderful! Hey, mistakes happen and sometimes the food is worth the wait! This place is a must try next time your in the OBX!

Excellent and friendly service. Pizza and all food is excellent beyond words! Owners treat their customers like family having dinner in their home. Staff enjoys job and owners enjoy cooking. If not on the menu they will create it if possible. Definitly a place you don’t want to miss during your visit to the outer banks. If you are going to the lost colony, they even stay open a little late for the lost colony guests as we enjoyed a meal after our visit to the lost colony. Well worth the trip to Manteo! You don’t won’t to miss this experience.

Cool environment and decent food. They were short-staffed so it was very slow and you could tell they were stressed to keep up. Most of the entrees were great, except the chicken parm. Chicken was overcooked and dry. Calamari appetizer seemed pretty cheap too. Had potential but a little disappointed overall.

I got the veggie sub. It was very good. The Calzone looked really good. Other people with me said they were. I will definitely get one the next time. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. They were decorated for Halloween so decor was festive. 🙂
