AMI is a sushi restaurant located in Westwood village. The sushi is bright and tasty. The service is good. The flavors are there. The only critique I have, if one can even call it that, is there’s nothing that sets this establishment apart from any other sushi restaurant. This is not a bad thing. It does sushi and Japanese food well. So if that’s what you are going for then this is your place. They have a great lunch special from 11 am – 3 pm. It offers bento box deals and sushi combos at very affordable prices. This is a college area, after all. The spicy teriyaki chicken is a must. This is definitely a must try if you crave sushi and you are in the area. The best deals are during lunchtime though.

nice place in a student town, calamari and mussels in my udon not so much fresh as the rest, got warm instead of hot tea, the udon soup also more warm than hot. it was ok. will come back to check in one more time. great service professional hard working people.

The price is good for regular menu items, the happy hours special are good for drinks, food items just ok. The restaurant setting is non traditional with classical music playing. The ordering system is a bit odd, hard to know who is your server. The beef from teriyaki bowl is dried and tempura from bento has no dipping sauce. Both dishes are below average but i have no problem for the price.
