I’m having chicken skewers which are juicy and well seasoned dressed with pickled cabbage. They’re accompanied by the avocado salad in a light dressing with egg, onion and mandarin orange slices. All amazing. Too much food, yes. But I’ll take it home. Pair it with an Alameda Brewing Kolsch (on tap).

Needed to find a place for a few over 50s to find a quiet place to talk in the midst of an impressive Friday evening scene in Alameda. McGee’s fit the bill. Bartender was attentive, the regulars were friendly and the drinks were reasonably priced.

Hadn’t been here in a while. The bartender was prompt and present but not overly attentive or friendly – a real pro. Had a few rounds and left. Drinks were good but was surprised by the final bill – seemed higher than expected. Double-checked the order and it was correct.

Daaam good drink the bartender made but they didn’t have food so bummer on my end. I drove out there to the food but it was none so if you go looking for food have a second idea in mind just in case the kitchen isnt open. It was my first time there so I don’t know the kitchen schedule.

Total local’s joint! Friendly staff and patrons. Kind of odd set up for the bar and kitchen..we ended up ordering drinks at the bar and paying for them at the bar then walking back to the kitchen and ordering food and paying for food there.

I had never been here before, but had known about it for at least a couple of years. Wanted to try, so I took a friend. He actually spent $27 and I spent $16. Their fries are good, and their club sandwich is good. I think he liked his burger, but he said the salad was too lettucey. I’m not sure exactly what that means, but he said the chocolate moose was thick. It’s right by the bus stop for the 20 and 21 coming from fruitvale BART, so it’s quite convenient.
