I’m going to give it the full five stars because the chicken tasted great, but it wasn’t the silver bullet for chicken I hoped it would be. Didn’t snap any photos of this one. It was takeout only so no rating on atmosphere.

I was visiting Delaware from West Virginia for a couple days and hadn’t had Walt’s chicken in 30 years. They did not disappoint. I got the wingettes but the young man behind the counter let me try a whole wing cause that’s what I used to get. Very very flavorful. Will definitely go back when I come in town

Ordered 10 wingets and fries, my wings were burnt and greasy. Definitely was cooked in old grease. I was so upset when I got home. I should have checked it before I left ♀️

Have been wanting to try Walt’s out for awhile but just had the opportunity to do so today. Was greeted at the door by a gentleman asking if I was up for my “regular” chicken and waffles before realizing that this was my first time here. We got a little bit of sticker shock, but ended up with a 10 PC meal with 2 large sides and dessert. Got everything home and tried it out. The large sides were way on the puny side for the money but good. Wings and breast pieces were overcooked but very flavorful. Banana pudding was AWESOME. Will go back definitely and just maybe try out those chicken and waffles.

Was visiting Wilmington for the 1st time. Looked for a good soul food place and this came up. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. I ordered the 2pc breast meal with corn on the cob and macaroni salad. The salad was good but my portion was very small. Corn was perfect. The wing was good but the breast meat was on the salty side. Too bad because it was fried very well.

Well, I was disappointed and had expectations. There’s not many southern/soul food resting Wilmington. We ran across this one. Even PresiBiden recommended. The macaroni salad was such a small portion, though my sister said it was good. The string beans had no flavor. The Mac n cheese was bland. My mom said her collards was made with vinegar, which she doesn’t like. My rice and beans had a small stone in it, maybe rice wasn’t cleaned properly. The chicken was made well, but left too long in the brine. Became salty. The customer service was great though.

I just came from there, walk in the front door and before I could even open my mouth, the young lady taking out the trash was telling me how it was a slow day and they don’t have a lot of food left and close early on Sundays around 7:30 so I asked her what time is it now and it was 6:20? REALLY, instead of wasting my & hers time, she should have told me that they was closing soon and we aren’t going to cook anything else…
