Had the thali tray ($10). with a choice of 4 items and 2 large freshly made rotis. All choices were vegetarian. Pretty flavorful. One dish was chili spicy. The rest were well spiced and each tasted different. Dine in, 3 tables, 11 seats. Bathroom.

We ordered the $10 thali, which has 3 veggie or bean dishes that you choose with 2 Indian bread (roti). I appreciated that they had so many vegan beans and veggie options in the thali. I think only one was not vegan because it has paneer (cheese). My favorite were the kidney beans (rajma) and spinach (palak). My husband’s favorite was yellow lentils(dal). and eggplant. This ended up being our favorite place during our trip and we went twice. I would definitely recommend some oil on the rotis so it gives that buttery feel. The rotis were huge and handmade. The thali was so filling especially after a full day of walking and being tired. We also ordered to go which we ended up eating for breakfast both days. We ordered samosas, potato(allu) paratha and also mooli(radish) paratha. There was so much love in every bite and it really tasted like home food. 🙂

Bathroom, AC and a little spot to sit. Great calm spot in UWS with vegan and vegetarian food (I’m not either but it’s awesome they have it) and their lunch special is $10 or something, much better than others in are that is $16

When in New York, you can sometimes find a hidden gem in the smallest places. We stumbled upon this place through google and it didn’t disappoint!

Dhaba style atmosphere that’s hard to catch in the US, the basic ambience of cafeteria tables definitely adds to the authenticity. The food is absolutely amazing and prices are very reasonable compared to any other Indian restaurant in Manhattan. Parathas are delicious and huge, and they have a few options of sabjis – bhindi, paneer, tofu. The restaurant itself needs a huge makeover, and more staff. If there are more than 5 people in the place, you need to yell your order until someone hears it.

It’s not a family restaurant and very cheap, also a cheap place to sit and eat! The food is ok, not an ideal paratha I ate in old Delhi or other major places! Doesn’t seems to be hygienic. The owner or the server is very unfriendly and have no etiquettes to even talk properly! You will see any people walking in next to sitting and using their restroom all the time! Won’t suggest this place!

I was so intrigued by the variety of snacks displayed from the window. I walked in and it’s a world wonders! Great food, cheap eats! Fire paranthas and yummy sweets. It’s a gem in the upper west side neighborhood.

The location was perfect for me because it was a block away from the place I was staying, this is the second time I try this place and for vegetarians is a great spot, you find a lot of Indian healthy and tasty options, there’s a few dishes like byriani that take time for them to make. The prices are reasonably cheap (but of course, it’s not a fancy place).
