I was most excited they served hot water cornbread but that turned out to be the least appealing thing on my plate. Not that it was bad, just not the best I’ve had. The rest was FANTASTIC. I got the spicy catfish plate with greens and yams. The fish is not spicy but well seasoned and perfectly fried. The greens are very good even without the pepper sauce, but the sauce is available on every table. The yams were so sweet and cinnamony they made the perfect dessert to finish off the most satisfying meal I’ve had in a while. I’m glad to have this restaurant in Waxahachie. I will be back and I will recommend it!

This is our second time ordering from here and I have not one complaint. Ms. Gloria (owner) and Ms. Linda (cook) were absolutely amazing and sweet. The food is AMAZING! I will be back next Wednesday to get some more food!

Exceptional customer service. The fried Catfish I ordered was chewy, lacked seasoning and did not break easily with a fork or knife (I ordered spicy Catfish) and the fish didn’t have a fried fish texture I was expecting. My side orders of collard greens and yams were very delicious. I also was not impressed with the hot water cornbread. I will be returning soon to try other menu items but definitely not the fried Catfish.

Got the fish fillets, which was amazing, by the way. 2 big fillers with great garlic mash potatoes and Mac n cheese. servers are young and may need help, but they did good and satisfied my hungry belly. I definitely had enough to bring home for dinner. Win win in my book.

This was my first time trying this place…. The food is delicious!! I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it. The fried chicken is perfect, I don’t care for Mac & Cheese but theirs won me over and the yams have the perfect amount of sweetness. I’ll be back to try more.
