Saturday evening dinner. Arrived about 6:00pm and the place was packed…a good thing for business. Instead of waiting about 15 minutes for a table we took a couple of seats at the bar in the back. Between the bar tender and our waitress we had great service. The atmosphere was festive with people being conversive while enjoying their food and drinks. We had the taco’s al carbon and the Friday dinner which is two enchilada’s and a bean taco. Both meals were great choices. Chips are served while the meals are prepared. We ordered a take-out for a family member that couldn’t join us. While at the bar saw lots of orders of flavored margarita’s…may try one on our next visit. I’m intrigued by the amaretto flavor.

This was my first time eating here. People were fabulous. Food was fabulous. Service was remarkable. It was my friends birthday. I told them and they surprised her with hat, singing and clapping and a free dessert. I will definitely put Mesquite at the #1 slot on Mexican food. I just loved it !!

So we live about 20 minutes east of Sealy but were told the Mexican food at Mesquite is worth the drive so we grabbed the kids and headed over on a Saturday morning. We arrived a little after 1100 and the crowd was already starting to arrive. Luis was the gentleman helping us and he was fast and efficient. The salsa has a good flavor and isn’t too spicy. We started with a large order of queso (they do have white queso by the way) along with a side of sliced fresh jalapenos. It was good but not extraordinary. I ordered the crispy beef tacos. The flavor was good and the food came out hot. My wife ordered the green enchiladas. She was very pleased with the flavor and they were hot and she left the plate empty! My daughter had soft beef tacos. She said they were good. Finally my son had the queso covered burrito. He said it was excellent. The prices were reasonable ($67 for 4 guests and an appetizer including the tip). We definitely will be back.

Don’t let the looks scare you!! Hands down the best Mexican food I’ve ever have eaten out. The salsa may be a little hot for some, but perfect for me. The tortillas were homemade and delicious. I can not say enough about how much we enjoyed this place! I would have given them 10 stars if it was an option. The service was amazing too! Our waiter seemed to really love what he did and was passionate about the food they offered. If you are close and hungry, do yourself a favor and check them out!!!
