This is a fine dining establishment, without the extravagant pricing. Yes, it is perfect for a special occasion, but the pricing allows for much more frequent visits for gastronomic delights.

Staff was very nice. Music would help with the atmosphere. The food was delicious and I loved that we didn’t feel rushed.

We just recently stopped in for lunch. We got soup, salad, and an entre for $13! Devious fish chowder, green salad with honey mustard dressing, and scallops with fig and brie for me. Everything was fantastic as was the service. My partner had the sausage and veg soup, salad with blue cheese dressing, and gueyere scallops, also fabulous! I highly recommend the Heritage House for both lunch and evening meals, you will not be disappointed.

Made a reservation to the Heritage house, hoping to have the best dining experience in town. Have lived in skowhegan all my life and never came because I don’t like to spend much on food. So this was a special treat for me and my party.

This is my favorite spot to meet friends for lunch! You get a 3 course meal for less than $15. You start with a choice of 2 freshly made soups, then a small side salad with a choice of housemade dressings, and then you get to choose from several different main dishes. There is always a plate of freshly baked bread to accompany the meal. The desserts are incredible and this is my absolute favorite spot for a strawberry margarita. You will not find fake strawberry flavor or sour mix here. They use real fruit puree and fresh lime! Sometimes the pace is slow, so be prepared to sit back, relax and enjoy each bite. It is worth it!

Take so long to get food you only get one average plate meal .. prices are $25 and up a person. Food is very plain. Husband said he went to check out and was told that the prices have changed. Between me my 7 yr old daughter and my husband our tab was $77. We all had only water ..my daughter didn’t have a meal it was two meals and one appetizer. We shared amongst each other cus it was so expensive. The food portion is not filling you feel like you would have to eat another half of plate along with your meal. From the scale from 1 to 10 the meals is a 5. It’s plain it’s not even exciting.

I had a stellar experience at Heritage House. From the parking, to the food and desserts, to the customer service, everything was on point. Very professional and high class atmosphere and one of the most beautiful and upkept restaurants I have been to. Meals are a bit pricey, but more than worth the few extra bucks to have a delicious and healthy meal that is also satisfying.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in recent memory. We made early reservations because we were attending a show at the Skowhegan opera house later that evening. We made it a point to let our waitress know when we were seated. We were actually the first table seated that evening. We waited an hour for bread to arrive to our table, although we were served our drinks fairly quickly and the house red was a decent glass of wine. When the bread arrived, it was warm and the butter softened. However, we then waited through two baskets of bread for the single appetizer our table ordered. Our salads finally arrived and the homemade Bleu cheese dressing was really good. And then we continued to wait. Our dinner finally arrived 80 minutes after we had been seated. While the specials list was long and impressive, both my husband and I received the wrong meals. He got a basic baked haddock fish despite ordering the Cajun haddock special. I received scallops with rice pilaf that I didn’t order and a baked potato on the which I did order. I didn’t get the scallop special with plum sauce I had ordered. Both meals were good, what you would get at any decent Maine locale, but not what we had ordered and by that point we would have been late to the show had we sent them back. We didn’t have time to even hear the desert menu, and to add insult to injury, the waitress never gave us our leftovers which we had asked to be boxed. The restaurant debit was okay, the table a bit small for a party of four… But I have to say that our water glasses were continually filled which was probably the best part of the experience. Our dining companions said they hadn’t eaten at Heritage House in about 13 years and as we left, they commented they finally wouldn’t return for another 13 years. I didn’t take any photos of our meals. They were typical plating for seafood dishes. Also be prepared to spend $100 or more for two including appetizers and drinks.
