It was my first time at this establishment and I have to say, it wasn’t the last. We were greeted warmly and seated in a booth as we requested. Our server came shortly and she was the sweetest. My miso soup came, it was a little different from the ones I had before. Didn’t mind the slight saltiness in the heat. For the main course we ordered Bulgogi and Bibimbap, together with a Butterfly Roll and Fried Spicy Tuna Roll.

My boyfriend and I are regulars here. The sushi melts in your mouth. The servers are spectacular! Fiona gets our table 99% of the time and does an AMAZING job on getting us everything we need and making sure we’re happy with the food. I couldn’t give her enough praise!

I used to really love this place for their martinis, refreshing cucumber salad and sushi. The martinis just don’t taste the same recently and the portions of what’s loaded on the tuna nachos are different. Sushi is still good though. I wish the martinis were the same. It’s what set them apart for me from Here or Fork and Knife. I do still love the staff there. Fiona is amazing. I always request her section if it is available.

This was my first time coming here and last. Food was fine, but our server with the mole on her face completely made me never want to come back. She didn’t bother to check on me or how my food was the whole time I was there. She was not welcoming at all. She chased me outside to tell me to sign my receipt in front of the whole restaurant when i indeed already did it just wasn’t what SHE wanted as a tip. Completely unprofessional. She didn’t deserve my business and I was really looking forward to see the “hype” of Fosters. The vibe was not it. Save your money and time and go to Sushi Nomi.

Ordered from here many times, but this was the first time I dined in. Food was great, all tasted very fresh and the service was great as well. We were literally the only people in there so that probably helps but good regardless. Will definitely return.

Loved this place!! We enjoyed the patio seating and took advantage of their vast Happy Hour menu and went to town!! Our server was awesome and continued to be understanding that our stomachs were bottomless pits. We had everything from salmon nigiri, to fried jalapeños stuffed with crab, fried avocado, edamame, seaweed salad, and countless rolls. 10/10 recommend.

Really disappointed with our experience today. We came for happy hour. We ordered sushi a little before 4 PM and it came to the table ar 4:58 and we were the only people in the restaurant! We live in Roanoke and love to support local but are really disappointed. I’m reading a sign out the window for taco Tuesday and wish we would have chosen the restaurant across the street. We were just here ar Fosters about 3 weeks ago but it will be awhile before we give them another chance.

We really like this place. Sashimi and tools are great. They have happy hour with great prices on food and drinks. 2nd time and liked it yet again. The Spicy Tuna Rolls were great, as was the Spicy Scallop rolls. Also had a little sashimi which was good as well.

Fosters is excellent! The Yellowtail Heaven roll was one of my favorite rolls I’ve had in a long time and I eat sushi a lot in Houston. Hot sake was very good too. The manager is super sweet and came over to our table and talked to her for awhile. She made our experience just that much better.

We have given this place many visits and this last try was definitely our ‘last visit’. We really try to support our local restaurants and give many chances before marking them off our list. Service was absolutely terrible and we were the only customers in the place! Soup was barely warm. No salad option…what Japanese restaurant doesn’t offer soup and salad with dinner meal??? The food was ok, but they use way too much soy sauce and it floods the plate. Cost is way too high for the food and service provided. There are far too many better options nearby. Never again.
