Was in the mood for some Dominican cuisine(since I’m half Hispanic ), and wanted to check out a local joint. Saw this place on DoorDash pickup. The prices were quite decent for their chicken dishes. Had the chicken, yellow rice, and beans and it was very good. The beans probably could use more flavor/spice, but the chicken and rice was delicious. Very Good portion of food for the money I’d say

I love Merengue! I been going here for years but this was the first time I dined in. And honestly everyone is so kind and friendly there. I don’t speak good Spanish but the girls behind the counter were such sweethearts and Alex the owner is also so kind, warm and welcoming. The food is delicious! While we were eating there was a guy playing music from the country my family is from and he also bought us shots of tequila. Definitely didn’t expect that! We felt so comfortable and right at home. The sweet plantains is so delicious- my hubby all time favorite- but the yellow rice and beans- definitely my favorite!! My hubby and I loved every thing. Will definitely be coming back.

About the only reasonable thing was the (although packaged and frozen) deep fried empanadas. Otherwise, ordered a Dominican Chicken Salad and got served something completely different. When we indicated the error, they returned with a plate of chopped iceberg lettuce, and several slices of tomato and cucumber topped with what appeared to be the chicken from the erroneous order cut up into bitesize pieces. For two people, one set of cutlery. Table service practically nonexistent. Looking for a Dominican cuisine experience? Probably best to look elsewhere. Sadly, not a place to recommend.

Ordered the pernil family dish & once again they “forgot” to include the sweet plantains. This is the 3rd time that they “forgot” & I’m too far to have it delivered alone. They shouldn’t include sweet plantains in their description if they have no intention of actually including it with your food. Done with this place, I can get more for less.
