I drove 1100 miles in one day from TX to Tucson just cause I knew I could get their fried pickles on my drive back home. Their food is wonderful – full of flavor, spectacular texture with homemade dips and local pies. I will time every drive through Tucson so that I can eat here. Service is great, online ordering is easy, and the staff are friendly. Can’t recommend enough.

I come down to MotoSonora for Monday bike night once a month or so and usually step outside to get food. I’m not vegan or vegetarian, but I like the food here. The items I’ve ordered are definitely not super healthy: spicy “frickn” sandwich, the “barby’s” sandwich, the cheezesteak, the hot dog, and the fries (not in one sitting); but they’ve all been delicious. My favorite is probably the frickn sandwich. Don’t forget to get napkins! Everything I’ve had is messy.

I am not a vegan, but the Spicy Chicken Sandwich was amazing! It’s a fairly large portion and a little messy, but the crunch of the fried “chicken” paired with the sauce and lettuce/pickle is fantastic. Sesame seed bun for the win. I saw a lot of negative comments about customer service so I was a little nervous. However, it was easy, fast, and cordial. Y’all are too picky sometimes. Thank you, Substance Diner for a great meal.

I stopped at Substance Diner while passing by Tucson and seeking a vegan option. I got the Spicy Freakin Sandwich and it was a 10/10!! So much flavor! The fries were also well seasoned and crispy. Highly recommend

Stopped by on the recommended of a friend who knows we’re vegan. Came in the middle of the day on a Monday and there was no wait. Ordered 2 Sonoran dogs and the Philly. Took about 15 minutes to get our food.
