I’ve been eating here since I was a kid; my whole family enjoys the hospitality of (and has worked at) Mrs. Wenger’s restaurant. In my opinion, they have the best sweet tea, best buttered toast, best potatoes and eggs, and best fried chicken. I haven’t tried anything yet that I haven’t liked. It’s also the cheapest place in Sanford to get a plate of grits, fatback, or homemade redeye gravy, not to mention the outstanding service and vintage atmosphere. As an adult, I come here at least once a week, and I think back at how much this place has made an impact on the history of Sanford.

This place was great and although I only had a salad I can’t wait to come here for breakfast. The service was fast and A local joint filled with locals. I think Mrs. Wegner was in the resturant and I loved the little story behind the menus. I enjoy supporting local businesses such as these and will definitely be coming back here with my family. My son ordered burger and fries and ate everything, which is rare for him.
