Food was great! The waiter didn’t waste time and was very efficient. He took orders quickly and kept up with waters well. He has a dry sense of humor so come prepared! He jokes about how they bribed google to take down their buisness because they were too popular!Also, they take cash only so no credit or debit card.

Wow! Finally made it to Lake Placid Inn and every amazing review was right! Incredible breakfast, excellent service and such a quaint Northwoods atmosphere. The toast. Never thought I’d feel so obsessed with toast. Thick slices of the best homemade bread we’ve ever had. The bacon was smoky, hashbrowns crispy and eggs perfect. We rolled ourselves out of there and plan on wearing stretch waistband pants for the rest of the day.

If you are in the Minocqua area you need to eat at Lake Placid Inn. You better be hungry when you come because not only is the food fantastic but the portion size is second to none. I cannot describe to you how big the cinnamon roll is but just realize you can hardly see the dinner plate that it is sitting on. It could easily feed 6 adults. Doughnut holes and drinks are waiting for you as you take your seat. You have to sign in order to get a seat but that is part of the fun when you are at Placid Inn. Enjoy a drink and the Northwoods atmosphere as you wait. The French toast is fantastic and everything is homemade there really isn’t anything you will not like. Remember winter is coming and come ready to eat like you are getting ready to hibernate.

If you think that you’re in for just another typical bacon and eggs breakfast, the Lake Placid Inn will have you thinking differently by the time you leave. It’s all about the overall experience – the great food prepared EXACTLY as you ordered it, the owner’s son with his dry wit and knowledge of the history of the restaurant/area, and of course the venue itself – DON’T be fooled by the nondescript exterior.
