The Dark Horse Social Club was organized as a food and entertainment venue dedicated to the preservation of Defiance’s food, history and social culture. Pleasantly surprised. Very nice dining establishment. We sat outside in the beautiful patio/cocktail lounge. Live music, great selection of my favorite beers from 2 Bandits Brewery. Proprietors are a married couple who stopped by our table to greet us and chat. Food was homemade and tasty. Glad to see this new dining and entertainment establishment in downtown Defiance.

I am in love with the overall vintage artisan atmosphere, beautiful brick walls. And a very unique wallpaper on the ceiling!! Wait staff was very pleasant and attentive. Food and drinks we great! Definitely will return!

Cold. Expensive. Extremely limited menu. Rickety chairs. Creepy wallpaper ceilings. CRAMPED. Goodness, I’ve had more room to move around in hole-in-the-wall dive bars. Have you ever been out to eat where NONE of your party members liked their food? That was a new experience for me. I’ve had more flavor from Cracker Barrel meals. We ordered a bottle of wine, and not only did we not get the right one; we got one that wasn’t even on the menu. They seem to have a lot of potential. They obviously put an inordinate amount of money into the decor and glasses. (Literally, horses everywhere but tastefully) Perhaps they were simply understaffed and understocked the night we went. Overall, extremely underwhelmed.

This is a true gem in Defiance, Ohio. The staff is attentive and the owners mingle with the guests. Our group all tried the flatbreads and they were unique and delicious! We plan to return when the weather is warmer and the patio and yard area is open.

Went here for the first time for brunch can’t believe I didn’t go sooner. Had a quiche and mimosa made perfectly with love edit,,,3/11/23 I want to add tonight at Dark Horse was wonderful they had an Irish dinner event and we met wonderful people and the staff was amazing. This is an incredibly unique dining experience different than anything I’ve ever been to and definitely recommend this social event can’t wait for the next reservable event.
