Xi’an Famous Foods began as a 200 square foot basement stall in the Golden Shopping Mall in Flushing, N.Y. The original location, established in late 2005, was the first restaurant to bring the little-known cuisine of Xi’an to the United States. Since then, it’s become a beloved local fast-casual chain, with locations in New York’s Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens boroughs. As a family-owned business, Xi’an Famous Foods looks to reintroduce the world to the unique western Chinese cuisine of the founder’s hometown through some classic dishes: liang pi “cold-skin noodles, stewed pork burgers, wide hand-pulled “biang biang” noodles, and more, all in their most authentic forms based on family recipes.
Local counter-serve chain offering Xi’an-style Chinese fare, including noodles, soups & sandwiches. Based on 326 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.5 stars. Price $

Overall, I think Xian Famous food lives up to the hype. We had the signature spicy cumin lamb noodles, dumplings, tofu soup and the teas. Every thing was very yummy. The signature noodles was delicious and hand cut. Good flavor and unique to the local region. The cold was a good compliment to the spicy taste. Definitely recommend it as a fast dining experience.

Absolutely fantastic and authentic noodle shop. Most of their meals you’re able to order as a vegan version, you can even adjust the spice level. The spices are incredible and absolutely flavorful, it always reminds me on my time I spend in Taiwan, where the food is awesome!

Get the sweet pork burger, trust me. It was filled with pork and dipped in the broth. Very very good and filling. Their beef noodle soup was perfect for the cold day. Very filling and spicy. I highly recommend this place. Make sure you go all the way to the back of the restaurant as they do have seating for customers but it’s hidden in the back.

Not a particular fan of spicy but the Lamb Cumin Noodles need to be ordered as Regular. The spices used are pretty great

Very hard to find authentic Xian food outside of Xian let alone in the US. They’ve nailed the flavor profile and look. I love cumin and looks like they do too.

Hey guys :)!! I hope all is well with you today! Lets talk about Xi’an Famous Foods! The restaurant was connected to other stores. When you first go in you see the cute little decor on the left wall, the menu on the right wall, and the food prep crew / kitchen straight ahead. There was little seating space right beyond the cute decor. There was a built in bench and about 5 stools. If you keep going straight to the back there was more seating available. A couple of tables and chairs in booths in the inside / outside area. You will feel the outside weather in this seating area.

My first experience at Xi’an Famous Food’s noodles. I’ve seen their food on many YouTube channels over the years and I’ve always wanted to go. My expectations were high and I wanted to be wowed like the reactions on YouTube. I was not let down. The noodles were unlike any other that I’ve had. It was smooth and tender. Just one bite engulfs your mouth with so much favor. I ordered the least spicy as my spice level and I was quite happy with my choice. I’ll definitely be back to try the other selections.

Apparently has to be hot spicy to be good and I dislike too hot spicy. Was asked for money twice by panhandlers while eating in the back room which is far off the street. No Diet coke, only full sugar. Would give 1 star but my friends liked it a lot so I want to be fair.

If you like spicy Chinese food, this IS it…My only complaint is, the soup spoons are tiny. Need a real spoon!

Great Food overall, the atmosphere feels nice. Seating is quite low and reminds me of a ramen shop layout. Staff are nice, not super outgoing though. You still have a feeling of welcoming though as you sit down. The kiosk has you punch in your name, but they still end up calling you by your number which to me seems a bit against the purpose of putting your name on the order in the first place. Otherwise, nothing noteworthy besides that.
