My daughter and I were traveling through Mississippi when we decided to take a break for lunch. We looked up places that we were near and The Bread and Butter Bistro popped up. The name sounded charming so we were intrigued and decided to stop. Absolutely one of our best decisions ever! First this place is adorable! All different styles of chairs and tables greet you as soon as you walk in the door, followed by warm smiles and that sweet Mississippi accent. But the most impressive thing was the food! We both ordered the “Must have Burger “and I swear it was the best burger either of us have ever had! Every single bite kept revealing new and wonderful flavors! My daughter got the sweet potato fries and I got the pasta as sides, and both were excellent but honestly the burger was definitelythe star! Truly, if you want to treat yourself to a dining experience, this is a place that you just can’t miss! And perhaps if you are lucky you will get to meet Butter, the owners Golden-Doodle! Absolutely perfect place!

Before I dive into our experience – I want to say this place is an absolute GEM! Lisa (owner) and her staff made sure our time with them was heartfelt and made us feel right at home. We were just passing through from New Orleans headed back home to Nebraska and we got lucky. Homestyle setting, incredible atmosphere; tasteful mixed seating and a warm welcome/greeting from the staff was appreciated after 7hrs on the road. While we enjoyed our iced tea, club sandwich with a side of pasta salad and the cheeseburger with a bacon pepper jelly with a side of homemade onion rings – Butter (the owners dog) made this all a memory we won’t forget. Lisa was wonderful and made sure we didn’t get back on the road without trying their chocolate AND key lime pie with a big glass of milk in a chilled glass to wash it down. This was a storybook experience. If I ever get the chance to pass back through Batesville – this will be a must!! Thanks, Lisa, Butter and the rest of your staff!!

Had a great meal today. I had the club and my son had the burger. We love the homemade chips with the ranch!! We love seeing Butter (the dog.) Everyone is very friendly and the chocolate chip cookies are amazing!!!

Wow! I’ve heard about this place a while back but had trouble convincing anyone to try it with me. Finally got my husband to go and all we can both say is WOW! Absolutely amazing food. Really cute decor. And super friendly folks. It’s even dog friendly.

You can tell a lot about a place by how good their fries are. This place has amazing fries! And onion rings. And sandwiches. And service. And some really wonderful, quirky decor. We stopped for lunch on a road trip and were delighted. Highly recommend!

Came to town because of a family illness. This place is fantastic. A quiet place with tons of charm. Food is in gracious portions and the price is spot on! Check out the desserts in the case by the register. Cookies, pies, bundt cakes and muffins to die over!! Lisa was super kind! Don’t forget to pet Butter the friendly dog while there!!!
