We’ve always had a great experience at Monte De Rey until tonight. We ordered our food, simple orders yet it took a while to get it and when it came they only brought my plate but not my husband’s. After the waitress filled drinks for other customers,took up plates and went to the register( she was picking up plates from other tables that were empty). Finally after I was nearly finished eating she brought his 3 tacos out. He only ordered 3 tacos. When he talked to someone about it, they never apologized and acted like it was no big deal. We are no longer going back here. It seems to us that they really don’t even care about the customers anymore. If you want to eat with the ones you are dining with I would suggest finding another Mexican restaurant. Oh, I had given them a 5 star review, but I had to change it to 2 stars.

I love this place! I truly don’t get some of the bad reviews. Every time we come we get the best service, they truly work hard to make you feel welcome and attended to, I can’t say enough about how friendly and attentive they are here! Our drinks are never empty and the food is delicious (and super affordable)! The margaritas are a steal and they don’t skimp on the tequila. Definitely try the churros for dessert. I recommend the fajitas and quesadillas. A 10/10 from me!

This place is stealing your money without you even knowing. I called in an order, and 15 minutes later picked it up. Total was close to $40 which seemed odd. I grabbed a to-go menu from the register to double check the prices since my menu was older. Nothing price wise was any different when comparing the menus. I called the restaurant once I was home to try and figure out why the order was so expensive. The girl got the manager (Ceasar) who was extremely rude. He told me the lunch special ACP was $8.99. My menu that I just got from the restaurant has the item listed for $6.49. And if you get to-go orders in general they skimp you on the portions. I barely had any chicken at all. In the picture included are all the prices this disgusting manager told me the items cost, which are all above listed prices. I had a friend call about an hour later to ask them how much their LUNCH special ACP was and they told him $8.25. Not only is that completely different from what I was told, that’s the price listed in the menu for the dinner portion. Beware. What this company is doing is extremely illegal and if it happens to you be sure to report it.

Used to be good food. Now bad food. Sticky table and the flies are SO bad. She said it was because of the door but all restaurants in town have doors, but not the major fly problem. At 4:30 the place was filthy, and wash the windows for a change! We’ve eaten here for 20 years, but no more. As bad as Mexican food is around here this is the WORST!! If you people who insist on eating here ever ate real Mexican you’d never eat here again!!

I called to place a to-go order and asked for the price of something because the menu was posted over 3 years ago. The lady that answered the phone mumbled and said “oh my god” with attitude when i asked for one simple price. I refuse to spend my money where customer service isn’t even given, I will never eat here. I immediately hung up.

This place would be a 5 star if they seasoned the food. The quesabirria was super bland aswell as the burrito California I got. The steak tastes like it had no seasoning. The food was cooked perfect though and the staff were amazing So I will probably be back and just hope they were out of seasoning in the back.

Where to begin? Oh yeah, I told the waiter a fly fell on my plate, and all he said was “oh yeah, there are a lot of those in here.” He gave 2 (pieces) of sopapillas (which I don’t like) from the kids menu as an apology. Not even a “can I bring you something else to eat?” as I barely touched my food before the inconvenience happened. Worst place ever, people, just stay away from this place. Their menu is much like any other mexican restaurant, but the food is YUCK!

Very nasty food!! I took my wife and she is Mexican and said it was not authentic at all. Please don’t waste your money!! The tortillas was not even cooked all the way!!! So sad that people don’t know what good Mexican food is!!
