I ordered beef and broccoli, orange chicken and the Mongolian beef was some beef and mushrooms and onions. It asked which side did I want and I picked white rice which usually come in a separate container. The taste of the food is anything but authentic. I ordered 4 wings for $9 which are whole wings but the were dry and over cooked and very small. The black pepper chicken usually comes with onions and celery not bell peppers but it tasted the best. The shrimp egg roll was dried out I could hardly bite it but the vegetables egg rolls were actually good. The egg foo young didn’t even come with rice but taste okay. The pricing of these dishes were all a little over $12/each. I paid around $75 for lunch containers amount of food.

The WORST Chinese food in Northwest Indiana! Beef fried rice, very oily, meat was rubbery, beef didnt look like beef. Orange chicken is chewy and sauce it was in really greasy.. Ive eaten at several Chinese restaurants and this wasnt good.

The soup was smooth and had a very hardy taste, However when the fried rice taste like charcoal grilling char taste it’s hard to say it was great food. Portion to cost is also another minus as even the egg rolls were much smaller than 90% of other places in the same business. This one is a pass for me not terrible but plenty of other options exist and have much tastier options.

Is your family craving authentic Chinese food but don’t want to drive to Chinatown in the city? Look no further than Chinatown Restaurant in Highland. Amazing menu options and lunch specials are reasonably priced. The only negative is that the restaurant is take out only for now. Nevertheless, the food is great, and the location won’t crimple you on the price of gas these days. Enjoy!
