My husband and I had breakfast there on our way to Mansfield. The host and waitress were friendly and accommodating. The food was good, but yes, it’s on the bland side. They have salt and pepper on the table. Understandably, many of their regulars are elderly people who can’t have overly seasoned foods for health reasons. If you don’t like it, don’t go back. If you do, then do so. Simple as that.

Very cool spot in the small town of Utica with a very classic diner feel. The food is very good (the pie is absolutely amazing), and they are very friendly and welcoming. Worth making the trip out to Utica to check them out.

Long time family favorite I hadn’t visited in a while. Was delighted to find that the food is still just as good as ever, very home cooking / comfort food oriented. The sugar cookies are phenomenal as well and worth the stop just to get a box of them to go.

Food was good, I had the pulled pork plate with Mac and cheese, 1/4 ear of corn and okra. Okra was very good and not slimy as some okra can be, pulled pork was tender and the BBQ was good. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Don’t expect an Applebees. This is the type of place where the customers and employees know each other by name. And where customers always sit at the same table. It’s 110+ years old. Food was definitely comfort food with a “meat and potatoes” type-vibe.
