Went there with a group of three, we were sat quickly though we didn’t have reservations. The host and waiter were very kind. The atmosphere is very chill which is nice to be able to relax after having some fancy meals in previous days. The food came out pretty quickly and though fast it was very flavorful and delicious. If you’re visiting from out of town or just in the mood for some Vietnamese food, I would highly recommend this place.

This place came highly recommended and had lots of positive reviews, but instead failed short to impress. There was a slight delay to our reservation due to a fire in the building where the restaurant resides, which wasn’t a big deal since we were able to be seated shortly after. My friend and I shared the spicy lamb dumplings (a must try), the Garlic KFC Wings and the Hot & Spicy Chicken Noodles. The food overall was flavorful, but I found the noodles to be slightly undercooked and overly greasy. The dumplings were the best thing we ordered and to be honest, this place is more fusion than an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Despite the mediocre food, service was great and the space fun and eclectic.

Let me start by saying I love the name of this place. Something about it conjures up the full, happy bellies of hairless baby animals after a thorough feeding. The service was good. Friendly staff and beautiful, whimsy restaurant.

During our stay in Charleston, we found Pink Bellies and the best Asian food we have had in the South to date. It was so good we went back the next day. The cocktails were great, food delicious, staff friendly, efficient especially James and the manager Michael. Took great care of all customers, and we enjoyed the conversation with them too. We will visit again next time in Charleston.

I read of Pink Bellies online. It was mentioned as a top rated restaurant in the area so I decided to check it out. We made a reservation ahead and were seated as soon as we arrived. Service was good but the food was too sweet and lacked flavor. The menu had only a handful of options and they informed us right away that they were not serving desserts as they were trying to find dessert substitutes for their current ones. For main dishes, we went for the garlic noodles and the spicy chicken noodles. Both were very sweet… and one tasty very buttery. I was not impressed with their food offerings. Also, the portions are small. For Asian noodles, I recommend Thai Elephant restaurants.

Easily some of the most unique and elaborate decor I’ve ever seen in a restaurant, even the chopsticks and drinkware were works of art. The staff was incredible, music was great, and I haven’t even gotten to the food yet. We had the Garlic KFC Wings, OG Garlic Noodles, one of the dumpling dishes, and the “Thai-Mar-Tea-Ni”, all of which were outstanding. I cannot recommend this place enough.

No hate to the servers or the vibe of the restaurant! Those were great qualities, but the food was not it!! We saw online that they had some authentic sounding dishes, but when we came there was really no Viet food on the menu, only Asian Fusion food. That was also okay, but when we ordered the food we noticed that almost everything we ordered was extremely salty!! We ordered the General Gerry’s Chicken and could not even eat it because the sauce was incredibly salty (not pictured). Same for the spicy oil noodles. Honestly a very disappointing experience. The best dishes were the pho mai burger and the garlic noodles were okay as well. Best wishes to the business, but unfortunately I will not be returning. ):

There were many new options to try compared to the food truck days, but the perfect balance of favors and textures are still there. My husband and I couldn’t stop debating between the Realist or the seasonal crab bun mi after our meal. By the end of the night- we concluded that anything Thai creates would be mind blowing.

Had dinner at the bar as I was on my own having left my son for his first night of college at his dorm. The menu was unusual, avocado chips, fish sauce in a cocktail but didn’t disappoint. The highlight was chatting to the bar person, Channing, who knocked up some awesome cocktails and taught me a few things about being a student at the College of Charleston. My first encounter of a computer science major working the bar but despite looking 19 at the oldest he assured me he was 21. The cocktails were turned out at lightning speed and the passion fruit bombay gin one I tried was delicious as was the food.

Pink Bellies is a great Vietnamese restaurant in a modern space. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. Jeremiah was funny, knowledgeable and all-around great!
