Jennie was a fantastic server! She made our first experience at New York deli restaurant wonderful with the different suggestions she offered. We drove from Shelby Township after reading some awesome reviews and seeing even more delicious pictures. Not pictured is the cream of broccoli soup that is OUT OF THIS WORLD!

They use to have the BEST chicken tenders in town. Somewhere in the last year they changed to different chicken tenders and they honestly kinda suck. I even told them well done and they are still flimsy, they taste fine but nowhere near as good as they used to be. They are like high school cafeteria tenders now. Please bring back the old chicken tenders I can’t justify paying $17 for 5 flimsy tenders and some French fries.

The service was great! I appreciated how often they checked on us. Most of the food is a bit greasy, this is comparable to a diner. For a diner, I felt the prices were pretty high (as other reviewers mentioned). The fried zucchini and mushrooms were my absolute favorites. The fish and chips were just okay. My entree came with a salad that had iceberg lettuce, 1 cucumber slice, and 1 cherry tomato. I added beets and it came with 3 slices for $1. My husband loved his burger. I am not sure if I would return again as they are better priced diners in the area.

Great community deli. Food, service and atmosphere exceeded expectations for an establishment such as this. Tab was over $60 for our table of 5 and someone next to us paid for it. We paid it forward. Thank you to the South Lake School employee that did that for us. What a sweetheart!

Very nice diner style restaurant with cool decor on the walls. The food was great and reasonably priced although seeming to be a bit on the high side but everybody does these days. Got to pay for that fancy bathroom lol. Our server was fantastic super nice and attentive. They weren’t very busy when we went for dinner at 6:30 on a Monday. One of the cleanest places I have been to in a while, and by clean I mean there was no dust in the molding on the walls even so they must really clean this place and take pride in that. Will definitely come back sometime.

Overall, a nice quaint place to dine. The place was clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. I definitely enjoy the complimentary pickles and the bread basket. As far as food, I ordered a soup and salad and my mother ordered their blackened salmon. We were both pleased with our meals.

Man I really enjoyed my visit to New York Deli! I had the Madison Square Garden specialty burger, fries and coleslaw. Cooked to perfection. Hot & Fresh ingredients, and moderately priced. I’ll always eat here again! Our waitress was really nice too and she recommended it.
