Got off the plane, hungry. Wanted Mexican. This came up. Had the combination plate. It was fantastic. Best chimichanga I have had in over 30 yrs. Authentic Mexican food. We like going to the Henry Ford several times a year and this will be our new goto place. Lot of food for your dollars. Great atmosphere too.

Everytime I go I enjoy the food! I used to live up the street on Van Born/Beech Daly and would do both carryout+dine in. Turned my sister onto it and her and her bf eat here at least twice a month! I third-wheel it here n there. Staff is welcoming, food is a healthy portion both plated and carry out. There’s an older blonde lady that usually is at the counter; she is always attentive and welcoming. my go-to if Im anywhere near the area. **photo is carryout

I was craving some Mexican cuisine and have been going to the Matador for 25 years now. I ordered my favorite Ground Beef and Cheese Enchiladas and also enjoyed some chips and Hot Sauce (They have Hot & Medium “Sauces” here rather than “Salsa”.) and a cold glass of Sprite to wash it down. Once you’re done, grab an order of Supa-pias to take away the “burn” from the Hot Sauce and it’s a good dessert, light and covered in Honey and Cinnamon.

We got carry out of the grande taco meal and my husband got the chicken fajita dinner. Their tacos are excellent I got the flour shells they’re just fantastic I must have gobbled them up in 10 minutes lol. The atmosphere isn’t much to speak of but carry out is awesome. The lady was very nice. All in all very good restaurant we have been coming here for years as we live nearby.

Not sure what’s happened here. Been eating here over 20 years. Ordered take out tonight. Seriously probably the worst food I’ve ever ate! We ordered 2 dinners, they messed up both. I’ve gone to call twice now, but I wouldn’t even want them to offer to re make us anything. It was that bad! Over all horrible experience, and we won’t be back!

Just average. Small portions. Tiny bowl of tortilla chips for a party of four. Quesadillas just chicken tacos folded in half. Burritos on the small side. On the plus side, open on Sunday. Hadn’t been to Matador in a while so wanted to give it a try but we’ll continue giving our business to Angelina’s in Allen Park or Mexican Fiesta on Ford road.
